And yet the scary thing is that Krakatoa was equivalent to 3 Tsar Bombas and then even that was only a VEI 6 compared to Tambora that happened half a century earlier in 1815, a VEI 7 volcanic explosion which led to the 'year without a summer' with millions dying of famine. Scarily these eruptions seem reasonable frequent in the grand scheme of things :?

I wonder if the Yosemite Caldera will ever go up. That’ll be a big one if it happens.

If you want more Cold War era nuclear mental-ness, look up how they planned to use live chickens, and consider one of the early plans for a Panama Canal mk2 was to bury a string of nukes along the route and then set them off :shock:

When I view the forum on my phone this thread always appears to be titled “big boobs”.
