Yes, somewhat similar to my new one, apart from a few details on the face.
Left over crest; tightens.

Ah, and now I've learned about the Broad Arrow and "The Dirty Dozen" watches.
Left over crest; tightens.

Some good discounts! Black Bay 41 (albeit on leather strap) for £1400 looks a steal. https://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/ ... e%7c1&Pg=7
Re: The Watches Thread
Not all would define a £1400 watch as “a steal”
Regardless - I received an email today from EJ with a voucher - use “SAVE200” to save (funnily enough) £200 on “selected”
Items over £1k.
I see the BB is available in-store only, but might be worth doing a live-chat with their agent to see if that can be applied?

The 41mm BB wears much bigger than the stated dimensions. I would try one on before buying it.Pete_ wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:00 am Some good discounts! Black Bay 41 (albeit on leather strap) for £1400 looks a steal. https://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/ ... e%7c1&Pg=7

Re: The Watches Thread
I like the Alpina Seastrong, reduced to £820
Re: The Watches Thread
Well it's £500 less than the cheapest UK one on Chrono24! I'm not planning on buying it myself though... I tried on the Black Bay 36 and 41 when I was looking for a new watch but they left me a bit underwhelmed. Most people seem to like them though, so I think the problem is with me and not the watch!mik wrote: ↑Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:15 am Not all would define a £1400 watch as “a steal”

The Christopher Ward was waiting for me at home today.
Surprise number one was the red band around the watch as there was only one photo on their website which was a straight on view. Surprise number two was the weight, it feels reassuringly heavy although once on the wrist it can hardly be felt.

Re: The Watches Thread
Thanks both, I'm very happy with it.
Re: The Watches Thread
Same diameter as my C1000 Cockpit. (Not my image). The more I look at it the more I like it. (I dislike the 9-o’clock logo position on many of the CW’s now - glad the C7 doesn’t have this).
Re: The Watches Thread
Seiko were listening to me! Non-compass Alpinist coming later this year. Looks great too me, but despite what I said before I think I prefer the blue and grey duals over the green.Pete_ wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:28 amI like them but unsure about the proportions of case, it looks very chunky relative to the size of the dial in pictures at least. Maybe it's just because the compass reduces the size of the dial? To my eyes it would look better without the compass, and it's not a feature I've ever wanted my watch to have.Jobbo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 6:42 am Seiko Alpinist is 38mm and has a simple design. It’s out of production now but apparently a new version is coming out shortly which has an updated movement but is otherwise similar. If they offer a blue dial version, as I expect they will because the limited edition blue dial last one was very popular, it would be a lovely, cheaper, alternative to the BB58.
But I'd take a green face over a blue face for any watch that has that option!
Re: The Watches Thread
Time Factors (the business behind the TZ watch forum) are opening their online shop for 30 minutes tomorrow. I’m quite tempted with the new reduced size Dreadnought.
Re: The Watches Thread
Pete, they’re gorgeous - except for the X logo.
