Re: No F1 thread?
Well I’m disappointed by that, I’d rather see some new people go int F1 than bring back someone who is toxic to any team they touch.
Pretty much confirms Seb is out though, all other seats are taken now aren’t they?

Just Hamilton left to sign now I think, so unless he leaves seb is out
Re: No F1 thread?
Another bad career choice by Alonso
He was a bloody brilliant driver, but FFS stay retired and let someone new come into the sport.

Re: No F1 thread?
Surely Grosjean should be the first out before Kyvat and Stroll?
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hamilton went for 8 then retired.
Chances of that? Starting to look like his only credible rival is Bottas. Ferrari won’t develop their way out of the hole they’re in over the next two years because their aero philosophy is constraining them and the budgets and development reduce next year anyway and Red Bull just won’t get close enough.

Re: No F1 thread?
If Renault are fighting for podiums it will be very interesting to watch. If he does to Ocon, what he did to Vandoorne...
I am conflicted though, I am glad to see him back as I think he is bloody good, but it is a shame when so many great young drivers are coming through, as someone said Grosjean is surely first due out?

Re: No F1 thread?
Moaning driver in a crap car. Brill.
Re: No F1 thread?
can’t disappoint my fans!
There’s a little extra irony too, I said when DR moved to Renault that hope he doesn’t end up like Alonso, wondering from team to team never timing it right to get a good seat, and who comes wondering back to fill his departed crap seat!
Re: No F1 thread?
The way Albon says "This guy is such a sore loser." If I'd been played the audio with no context I'd never've thought it from a situation like that.
Re: No F1 thread?
I quite liked Bottas comments on his qualifying spin, about his Merc cutting grass better than his lawnmower at home

Re: No F1 thread?
I was just thinking that if Hamilton were to win this years championship, and Kimi and Vettel were to retire at the end of this year he would have been the only driver with a championship on the entire grid. But Alonso as usual has ruined that!
Wonder if there’s ever been a grid with only 1 champion.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: No F1 thread?
Yes, 1951 with Giuseppe Farina who was the first ever champ as well.Mito Man wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 10:53 pm I was just thinking that if Hamilton were to win this years championship, and Kimi and Vettel were to retire at the end of this year he would have been the only driver with a championship on the entire grid. 2007. Schumacher had retired (first time) leaving Alonso the only champion on the grid.
Re: No F1 thread?
Yep. And I think 1996 when Schmacher was the only one.
