John wrote: Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:21 pm I did that yesterday with the same results. I placed it on the floor before it had completely stopped and it just caught the cable. As suggested cable redone.
At least you showed initiative and repaired it. I'd run out of time so just did some profuse swearing and then put it back in the cupboard

ETA: apologies Jobbo for the thread hijack & congrats on the nuptials.

Hey, I'm guessing GG isn't the first of us to nip something important whilst trimming his bush.

You'd better be on your way to the Cat thread to post pics!

Nothing like cramming all those life events into the shortest possible time :D

I managed to move job, have a baby (well not me obviously) and get married in 6 months between September 2015 and March 2016. Thank god I didn’t move house too or I think I probably would’ve lost my mind

I managed new job, new house, new car, new wife, pregnant wife in about 18 months, sadly I don’t own a hedge trimmer yet. Though judging from this thread I reckon I’ll get a cordless one...

Congrats on the wedding Mr and Mrs Jobson!

Volvo ownership! You've truly arrived. Does look good, I approve.

I have both a cordless electric and a petrol hedge trimmer so I’ve never been able to chop through the cable.

Not to be completely left out, I chopped straight through the TV cable that feeds behind a bush and through the lounge wall. Best of all I didn’t realise. We had no TV for 2 weeks until we finally got an appointment with a Sky repair man. Boy was I popular when he pointed out that there was nothing wrong with the dish or box.

The Bosch AHS 45-16 corded hedge trimmer is lightweight yet powerful with a 420 W motor, ideal for smaller sized hedges

It has a 45 cm diamond ground blade with a 16 mm tooth opening for a clean, precise cut. Its ergonomic and lightweight design make it comfortable to use in any position too.

I should probably talk up the fact that it's pretty much a Golf R underneath. 310bhp and Haldex 4wd
