Talented Audi Drivers
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
Seriously impressive turn of speed when he guns it...
Bit of an idiot really thought if we're honest

Re: Talented Audi Drivers
Should have used the lane keep assist.
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
I have mixed feelings about stuff like this.
Would I be tempted to try something like that if I had a capable car and the roads are this quiet, yes.
Would I do it one handed while filming on my phone. No
The guy was being a bit stupid.
Apparently that cannonball run record has been broken 7 times since the US lockdown started

An absolute unit
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
Why wouldn't you just go to Germany and do it on the autobahn? No potential jail time and much lower likelihood of death from some fuckwit pulling out into lane three at 50mph.
Then again I haven't just inhaled some white powder up my nose as that guy likely has some I'm probably being a bit more rational about this.

Re: Talented Audi Drivers
Why is it less dangerous in Germany than here on an empty motorway? It's the fact he filmed it which is the main issue.
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
It Isn't really that "less dangerous" in Germany than here is it.
sure other road users are going to more used high speed cars passing them but every other risk from mechanical failure, to an animal strike, to oil / diesel on the road are exactly the same.

Re: Talented Audi Drivers
75 year old Harold in his rust bucket mk4 escort he’s owned since new, doing 56mph “because that’s fast enough!” In the fast lane because he pays his road tax and it’s his right
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
He's dying in a care home of Coronavirus, there's not much traffic on the roads and even the MLMs are only venturing into the middle lane, not the outside lane
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
I think I’d be happier doing 200 on an autobahn compared to a motorway even if you took the legality out of the question. People are simply used to people doing excessive speed on autobahns and will behave differently with regard to lane discipline.
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
Come to Teesside, the at risk groups of people still haven’t got the message, they’re still going about their business as if nothings happened
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
To be fair, he's apparently on the M23 near Pease Pottage. There could have been the usual traffic jam at the end of the motorway as everyone heads to the beach
Re: Talented Audi Drivers
This starts near me on the M23. The local police are on the case apparently.
People talk about 'competent driver in a good car can be safe' etc, but at the end of the day motorways are not engineered for cars to do this sort of speed. At 200mph some of those corners become 'blind corners'. The bump and undulation tolerances are not suitable for that sort of speed, etc etc.
I hope they find him and jail him.

See my post above about engineering the road for high speeds in the first place.
