The amount they've asked for is basically the same as that which they spent buying back their own shares.

If they'd known they'd probably have left it alone rather than buying back these shares, personally I don't think it's unreasonable to bailout these companies as I'd rather the workers had something to go back to after the virus and it's easier to nurse something along than start again from scratch. Letting them go to the wall helps no one.

All of them will be opportunistic to some degree or other, they won't be able to help themselves. My company are being so obvious about it I'm embarrassed for them.

I suspect the next five years or so will be very busy for HMRC as they audit lots of companies that furloughed all of their staff to get the govt benefit, but were still operating 'as normal'.

Given the wide reaching powers HMRC have, that's an extremely dangerous game to play.

I've just been tested as a precaution (so we know if my wife can work). I've had a fairly bad cold this week, but no fever or other symptoms so far. But my cough got worse yesterday, so it made sense to find out.

Quietest I've ever seen the M25, less traffic than at 5AM before!

This. Even if you believe in capitalism, it simply is not right that some airlines have been doling out the profit to shareholders and then going cap in hand for bailouts. Get fvcked.

Same goes for the cowardly arseholes that get are continuing to get paid 5 and 6 figure sums for not kicking a football around whilst the club staff are being furloughed at Gov't expense. Hiding behind the PFA as a collective rather than showing as an indivisual that you can afford to do your bit? Doubtless the cvnts won't be "put on the list" by those that are so vocal about toher cvnts like Ashley and Martin.
