The positives of Corona
The positives of Corona
Does anyone think of the possible positives from this situation?
Will this steer businesses to home working ?
Will it make people look at where products come from and buy local ?
Will it mean more people wash their hands after going to the toilet ?
As terrible as the situation is, is becoming, what positives do you think can come from this?
Dave!

Well, most of them think that they should ignore experts, so you're probably not wrong.

Genuinely higher risk than the general population.

I’m extremely grateful that I got a job starting when it did. I suspect it’s going to be difficult for a couple of months at least. Plus I get to work from home so it’s not much different to what I’ve done for the last 9 months, except instead of porn videos, it’s training content.Barry wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 8:34 pmThose people are also probably retired, with a decent pension, so they can afford to sit this out while we all flap and try not to lose our jobs.

Oh I know the demographics, but if you can afford to hole up at home for a month without worrying about losing your job/catching it, I know i would. I can't though, if work don't enforce WFH next week I'll be taking my chances with my colleagues, who can barely function under normal circumstances, let alone when you actually NEED to wash your hands after going to the bathroom..
Re: The positives of Corona
I do. Poor people will die.
Re: The positives of Corona
Quieter roads in the short term. Less people traveling to work and social events.
Re: The positives of Corona
Ironically, it's been busier where I am, although I imagine as the larger employers in Leeds take things rather more seriously, that will die down a bit.

Re: The positives of Corona
Roads here don't seem any quieter yet, busier if anything as I assume people are driving instead of taking busses!
Cheers, Harry

Maybe a positive will be community spirit where you have to look out for your neighbours more than the odd nod.
Re: The positives of Corona
The main positive for me is that it will make us better prepared for the time something even worse than corona comes along.
