Your fleet running reports
Re: Your fleet running reports
A mate rolled up in a Tesla Model S P90D the other day,it was a loaner whilst they fixed some panel gaps on his Model 3. Got a quick passenger ride down to Mexico and can confirm it's impressively quick, especially from a stop/slow roll, but not really exciting. The self park was good, but the interior felt a bit dated, especially compared to his 3 - you can really see they've come a long way in that regard. Still a nice thing though.
My insurance renewal from esure came through and they wanted £638 (up from £523 last year), so they got told to FRO. Admiral quoted me £458, which is still a lot but that's SE London for you. The car has been reminding me it needed a service since November so I finally pulled my thumb out and arranged it, I decided to give BMW a miss this time and went to ETA Motorsport near Brands Hatch, they charged over £100 less than Stephen James BMW and another local specialist quoted.
The Spazda is still in bits

Took my Dad out in the Up last weekend - first time he'd been out in it. He wasn't impressed with its 'basic' trim and build, but I did explain it was only £13k new, and it won't compare to his £25k T-Roc.

Erm, thanks Dad.

Haha, that's the kind of thing my dad would say too!Matty wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:19 pm Took my Dad out in the Up last weekend - first time he'd been out in it. He wasn't impressed with its 'basic' trim and build, but I did explain it was only £13k new, and it won't compare to his £25k T-Roc.

New rear silencer fitter to the M240i yesterday. Warranty job so nice shiny new pipes for free with the added benefit of them not rattling on idle.
Re: Your fleet running reports
I want to make a joke about regularly cleaning your tailpipe....but I won't.
Re: Your fleet running reports
Great result. A lot of people have bother getting it swapped. Mine was done recently and I could swear I heard it do a little rattle yesterday.
Re: Your fleet running reports
My 7kw charger fitting was today. Sparky turned up as agreed, took his time making a mess, adding eleventy electrical boxes and drilling holes everywhere, then tells me I need an earth rod despite me giving them pictures of everything and where I intended charging the car (drive) for the quote and being told I didn't. Three holes into the garage concrete floor later he says the earth isn't strong enough so I need another hole in the wall and a rod in the garden. Another hour of faffing and he needs to drive to an electrical store for a piece of ducting, after lifting two of my paving slabs to run it across to the lawn.
Five hours of standing about on a freezing day and he finally fires the unit up, only for it to refuse to connect to the network and register with Rolec, to enable charging. A call to his boss, who spots a missing aerial on facetime, one is procured from a new unit, still nothing. By this time Rolec have all gone home for the day so his boss says he'll have to pack up and call them in the morning. Suspected duff unit.
So I'm left with no 7kw charging after an entire day off, and waiting to see what Rolec say from a call tomorrow. Only power I hold is I've yet to pay them a penny, despite them invoicing me and requesting FULL payment before the fitting day. Can FRO with that sh!t.
i can still trickle charge on 13a, or use the Civic, or the bike(s), so hardly a big deal but I just hate it when simple jobs drag on like this. It's a 32a socket for crying out loud, not a house rewiring..

I'm amazed at that.* I think it took our guy an hour. New breaker in the consumer unit was the bit that took the longest because he had to go find an older style one. Don't remember needing an earth rod. He just took it through the wall behind the CU, into the garage and then along through to the front.
He was even good enough to route it in such a way that it wouldn't be affected when we took the bog out of the garage.
ETA: *Actually no I'm not. Sadly. Too many fvckwits about.

Re: Your fleet running reports
My dads been waiting months for one but for different reasons, his electrician fitted some single phase 230v 11kw chargers for other clients a few years ago (much like electrical cookers) which is what he wanted. They are no longer produced though and there’s no old stock either.
Think I may just move the old i3 one to the new location he wants if he can’t get a olev one fitted without changing to a smart meter as I believe that’s one of the new requirements.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Your fleet running reports
The golf had a small mark in the rear seat when I got it, I told the leasing company (just so they were aware it was there and I didn’t get blamed at the end). They told me to take it to be valeted, I told them I couldn’t be arsed, they arranged for a valet guy to come to me.
The guy came today and did his stuff...
SHINY!!
It will never be this clean again!

Lovely!
Boxster needs both condensers replacing apparently. 450 sheets. Seems expensive.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Is that including fitting and regassing? Bargain if so.
It’s 3-4 hours labour (so £180 - £240), £200 for 2 condensers, o-rings, dessicator etc. plus £60 - £80 for a regas.
Just hope your fans work. Both of mine only work on stage 2. My indy reckons that running with the a/c on improves cooling because the fans run more often to cool the condensers so when your a/c isn’t working you’re not doing the motor any favours.

Has to help if you are over the temp at which your fan normally cuts in (assuming stacked rads for cooling and aircon) but Shirley makes fook hall difference if you haven’t reached the temp at which your coolant fan kicks in?Coaster1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 4:25 pmThis is correct from what I read on 911ukNotoriousREV wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:58 pm My indy reckons that running with the a/c on improves cooling because the fans run more often to cool the condensers so when your a/c isn’t working you’re not doing the motor any favours.

The fans have always worked full time when the air con is on on all the cars I've had. I think it increases the efficiency of the condenser.mik wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 4:50 pmHas to help if you are over the temp at which your fan normally cuts in (assuming stacked rads for cooling and aircon) but Shirley makes fook hall difference if you haven’t reached the temp at which your coolant fan kicks in?Coaster1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 4:25 pmThis is correct from what I read on 911ukNotoriousREV wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:58 pm My indy reckons that running with the a/c on improves cooling because the fans run more often to cool the condensers so when your a/c isn’t working you’re not doing the motor any favours.

Maybe I'm being cheap. Let's try a regas first.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:58 pmIs that including fitting and regassing? Bargain if so.
