Weird car crush.
Weird car crush.
Whilst obviously having a passing interest in the imminent 718-6 Cayman GTS, (I've specced three up on the configurator to see what they look like so far...), I also find myself strangely drawn to the upcoming Toyota Yaris GR every time I read something about it. Has anyone else fancied a car that they felt a little embarrassed about?

With the likely future lifespan of petrol power, I'm feeling under pressure to fit one, maybe two more cars in before personal transport goes all 'white goods'. Perhaps I'm having a pessimistic day today. Will go out for early doors beers later and re-evaluate the future through beer goggles.

The Audi A2, it was such a clever design, beautifully made and was a car built as a small, frugal family car. It was a bit sad it didn’t do better.
I watched it being tested at Millbrook and it was incredibly cool looking.
Citroen Cactus, just like the A2, great idea and more interesting to look at than most but didn’t seem to catch people’s attention.

How can you be so right and so wrong in the space of 3 sentences?V8Granite wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 2:39 pm The Audi A2, it was such a clever design, beautifully made and was a car built as a small, frugal family car. It was a bit sad it didn’t do better.

A2 was great, the Citroen less so.

Ah the Cacktus. Looked just about tolerable when new, but now after years of being attacked by the sunlight they look a car you’d pick up at Poundland with all the faded trim.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Weird car crush.
No car park dings, good suspension travel, easy to see all corners, flat floor with lots of space, frugal, the perfect 4 person family runabout.

When I was 16 I genuinely wanted a MK1 Fiat Panda as my first car.

I had one, as long as you didn't expect it to be a sports car it was actually pretty decent. Comfy, big boot, and based on reliable Cavalier underpinnings. And they really were pretty stylish at the time.
My weird crush would have to be a Land Rover. I've had two and hated them (a 110 and a SWB SIII), and driven my neighbour's 90 and hated it, yet I still sometimes look at adverts and think I want one

I always liked the shape of the Calibra. I checked and Wayne Cherry is still alive; I’m sure he was attributed credit for the Calibra when it came out but Erhard Schnell, who has just died, certainly seems to have had a substantial hand in the Calibra. And the 60s Opel GT which is a real looker. I’d not heard of Erhard before so thank you for the education.Orange Cola wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 8:27 pm I really like Calibra’s I saw the designer of it passed away yesterday too
