Pantera Pr0n
Re: Pantera Pr0n
IThe early slim hipped cars are the cleanest design, but the late GT5S is the one for me. Love them.
Re: Pantera Pr0n
The wheels are too big. With a smaller wheel and a bit more tyre profile it'd be awesome.
Re: Pantera Pr0n
Shameless whoring of my pic of the Pantera at Earl's Barton show in August.

That’s lovely. Given they run a small block Ford V8, he had loads of options for making it run well. Not something that can be said for a lot of Italian supercars. I remember seeing them criticised for the engine not being more exotic when they were still in production, but they work brilliantly.

TBH part of the appeal of DeTomaso (and Monteverdi) cars for me is the more mainstream engine.
I'd love an original Pantera or Mangusta.

An absolute unit
Re: Pantera Pr0n
One of my favourite things about them is the that the sound doesn’t quite match what you’d expect from a car that looks like that

Ahh, glad to see I'm not the only fan. As an 80s child my love for them started with the widebody versions. However, save perhaps for the runout variants, I'm a fan of both the bewinged and pure versions.
Such a shame that I'm highly unlikely to ever have the ££ to own one
As for the comment about the wheels being too big in the one I linked - nah. It's a Pantera, it can get away with it comfortably. Looks perfect to me.

Not watched it yet, but.... splumph.
Re: Pantera Pr0n
Utterly beautiful cars, I always expect a car that looks like that to sound like an Italian V12, muscle car noises just sound a little bit misplaced to me

I can't get how anyone can be dissapointed by the sound a Pantera makes!

We tend to think of all Yank V8s as sounding the same, but the reality is that Ford small blocks (351w, 351c as in the Pantera, and 80s onwards 302/5.0) are the best because they use a different firing order to other V8s.

Intriguing. Stealing Shamelessly from Wiki I was going to make a pertinent point but then discovered GM and Ford number their cylinders differently and my brain started hurting.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 10:00 pm We tend to think of all Yank V8s as sounding the same, but the reality is that Ford small blocks (351w, 351c as in the Pantera, and 80s onwards 302/5.0) are the best because they use a different firing order to other V8s.
Instead I'll provide some targential Ford V8 goodness. The Type 30 certainly made an impression on me when I saw it run at Hethel. I don't care if it was a crap racecar, it's beautiful and sounds like THIS.

Do it.
LS are “not normal” in terms of firing order too, non?
