Hopefully you're right, we're on Easyjet, but from Olbia so probably not a particularly busy destination.
Re: Thomas cook
I think it's 150k UK bods, 600k Europeans in total.
I'm not sure how much slack there is in aircraft at the moment, what with all 737 MAX being grounded and other planes picking up their duties.

As sad as this is for all the TC staff, at least we're waking to news of a well documented contingency plan going into action this morning. CAA has staff and planes lined up ready to start the repatriation and people will be returning from their holidays around the date that they would've returned anyway.
We're not waking up to news of people being stranded with no idea how to return and no action plan in place. This is good.

Yeah, not a happy time for their employees or customers.
As Rev said, it’s been on the cards for a while so last week the CAA asked for assistance from other UK airlines. The figures involved are quite daunting, twice the size of the Monarch collapse (which was 2017 Rev, tempus fugit ).
It’s all hands to the pumps getting everyone home (employees aswell as customers), so delays on other flights are possible aswell as consolidation on certain routes.
You may want to keep up to date with your Eu261 Rights for info on compensation.

Our flight is already delayed for this evening. I have a feeling it's going to be a long day!

Don't be stoopid - Duncs took the solar sailboat on the way out. Flying back is fine as it is all downhill - just gliding most of the way.
Re: Thomas cook
Can't beat a downhill glide.

Phew. I've struggled to sleep whilst worrying about his blatant disregard for the future of our progeny. He isn't the selfish arrogant tossbag I was set to assume he was

You get them cheap, keep the ones you want and then flip the rest for profit. Cheap way to expand into high streets where you don't have a presence.Richard wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 7:34 pmWhy!????!?jamcg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 10:10 am https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49985369

Cheap shops that handily also come complete with fully trained, experienced staff desperate to be employed so they’re really easy to shit on tooSwervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:30 pmYou get them cheap, keep the ones you want and then flip the rest for profit. Re: Thomas cook
But what are they going to be selling? There’s no Thomas Cook flights (so flight prices will be higher until that capacity is replaced by other airlines, which took 6-9 months when Monarch failed) or package holidays anymore, and all that hotel capacity will need to be recontracted (hotel prices will fall as there’s now over supply). Will Hays be repackaging these holidays themselves? Most people still booking in the shops want full package holidays, they don’t really want to be mixing and matching, that’s what the online market is for.jamcg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:49 pmCheap shops that handily also come complete with fully trained, experienced staff desperate to be employed so they’re really easy to shit on tooSwervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 8:30 pmYou get them cheap, keep the ones you want and then flip the rest for profit.
