Decent Recent TV
Re: Decent Recent TV
Watch Dark, it's amazing.
Also Russian Doll and When They See Us.
Better Call Saul (assuming you've seen Breaking Bad) and Narcos too.

An absolute unit

Stop everything you're doing and watch Breaking Bad. I think its my favourite TV series ever and stands up well to repeated viewings. If you have time on your hands, listen to the accompanying podcast as its amazing to hear how they came up with stuff, the work that went in to certain shots and the little Easter eggs from season to season.
Cheers,
Mike.

I was thinking about watching BB again before the movie came out. I've not watched it again since it finished.

I started season 1 last week, now halfway through season 2, yeah it's pretty good.Ascender wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 4:26 pmStop everything you're doing and watch Breaking Bad. Re: Decent Recent TV
The Spy on Netflix is excellent - with Sacha Baron Cohen who does a fantastic job. Almost Chernobyl good.
Re: Decent Recent TV
I appreciate this is Decent *RECENT* TV, but I’ve been at home feeling poorly sick, and throughly enjoying Long Way Round, back from 2004. It’s on Amazon Prime now
I don’t remember really watching it when it was on first time
It’s so lovely. I throughly recommend it. Absolutely ideal for watching sat on the sofa feeling a bit sorry for yourself. The sound track is great too, lots of Stereophonics
For those who don’t know, it’s Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman riding BMW GS bikes from London to New York. They go through Europe, Russia, Alaska, Canada, USA, and places in between.

Re: Decent Recent TV
Yes it was brilliant TV wasn't it. The follow-up wasn't quite as good - Long Way Down I think it was - as McGregor dips out halfway through to fanny about on bikes with his Mrs at the time. Charley was not too impressed with that
Re: Decent Recent TV
Have you read the LWR book? It's better still than the telly. Russians be crazy, like.
Re: Decent Recent TV
and become "Expedition Photographer" IRRC
Charley wasn't impressed and I don't think I'd be either...
Re: Decent Recent TV
I sure as hell wouldn't be!

Re: Decent Recent TV
Unbelievable on Netflix is pretty good. About a girl who gets raped but the cops don’t believe her so she tells them she lied about, even though she didn’t. Turns out there’s a serial rapist on the loose who’s being hunted down by 2 female detectives, one of whom drives a bitchin’ 1975 Ford Ranchero.
The first episode was a bit slow, brutal and uncomfortable. It doesn’t exactly lighten up, but the pace picks up and it’s less unremittingly dark. Worth sticking with.

Top boy
Follow up series on Netflix. Really enjoyed it. Although I had to switch on the subtitles, otherwise I could not understand half of what they were saying (I'm not an native English speaker).
Surely 9/10

Re: Decent Recent TV
yeah, we’ve rewatched the first seasons and currently 4-5 episode in. It’s a bit slower, but still really good. Wagwan fam.zx6rkiller wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 8:42 am Top boy

I've just been put onto this by a mate of mine - Series 1 and 2 are pretty old, aren't they? 2011 or so? I'm finding them hard to steal.
Re: Decent Recent TV
Whereas clearly I am not.
Re: Decent Recent TV
I see!
Tbh, I haven’t cared enough about having to see anything I haven’t got legal access to for so many years I wouldn’t have the first clue how to get it illegally any more!

I'm stuck in the past tbh, started acquiring stuff back in 2008 and still use the same site now. If it ain't broke, and all that. Saves paying for stuff!
