I’m asking something completely different to what you’ve answered?

Re: 2020 LR Defender
It’s not a snorkel, it’s a raised air intake.
I’ve just watched the video and the middle seat is very surprising, I didn’t think they would be able to do that and it works well by the looks of it.

Definitely not with air suspension and various computers.
I think the last Defender was still the 300tdi and everything newer has been stuff like the Ocelot. I’m not sure they still use the WMIk etc.

Re: 2020 LR Defender
I'd been looking at sub-10K 90s recently to have something I can take to the hills, chuck wet muddy dogs in the back of and be decent off-road. Which seems to be things that the old one excels at...

So it turns out it doesn't look like a Kia Soul, it looks like a Honda Element

Re: 2020 LR Defender
I havent seen any negative press on this. Despite it being easy to spend > £65k on 4-smasher versions. Looks like LR are onto a winner (after ruining the Disco).

Nah, he's clutching at straws there, it looks a bit like it if you've only got one eye and it's dark. Typical behaviour, people can't bear it to be be good.speedingfine wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:13 pm So it turns out it doesn't look like a Kia Soul, it looks like a Honda Element

Re: 2020 LR Defender
My Grand Vitara has a wading depth of two and a half feet; this has a wading depth of under three feet. And the new Defender has air suspension to raise it substantially. Could do better (and yes, I appreciate it’s not for wading Dave; so how can the wading depth be improved?)Orange Cola wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:29 pmIt floats if you go any deeper!
I love it, I think they’ve really hit the nail on the head with this one.
Re: 2020 LR Defender
The only thing stopping the pre TD5 defenders going any deeper were axle and gearbox breathers. £40 later and you have a wading depth of a metre.
Your feet will get wet mind you.

Helps that the car itself starts adding mass by filling the Chassis and interior with water

Re: 2020 LR Defender
900mm is pretty impressive for off the shelf off road cars, maybe it’s not the Defender that’s a disappointment but Suzuki have just done a decent job on the Vitara?Jobbo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 11:13 pmMy Grand Vitara has a wading depth of two and a half feet; this has a wading depth of under three feet. Re: 2020 LR Defender
Anyone who thinks 900mm of water isn't a lot has never been confronted with 900mm of water to drive through. Trust me - it's plenty. Not far off waist height on me......
Re: 2020 LR Defender
I did about 700mm in a RRS (requote away) on the Land Rover Experience. They arent going to risk the cars, so I went in knowing we would be able to make it, but it was still a dry-throat moment.
