Who said that.

Interestingly, Tesla have said the Model S is going to the 'Ring. And this was spotted there yesterday.
Yes, that is a non-standard spoiler and (non-standard?) PS Cup2s.
Given the Model Ss history on track (not great) it'll be interesting to see what they're trying to achieve.

Hey is that the Tesla Turbo Diesel Twin Cam?
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
He called that configuration the Cummings because he thought it was hilarious when he was high.
An absolute unit
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
Is that a gurney wing
Will be interesting if it betters or comes very close to the Taycan’s time after every journalist said that the dated Tesla chassis doesn’t hold a grain of salt against it.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
How long does a Model S last at full chat these days? Were there not track features where it was managing a couple of laps then going into reduced power mode?
Have they really managed to improve the battery management to improve it beyond that enough for hard 'Ring laps?

If the Model S driver doesn't beat the Taken, will Musk call him a Paedo?

I'd imagine it was on purpose for lolz.
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
It's the cooling capacity of the Tesla, it's small, it's (IMHO) clever and it's fine for living life a quarter mile at a time. It ain't up to track loads.Beany wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 11:38 am How long does a Model S last at full chat these days? So would be interesting to know what's under the skin of the N'Ring Tesla to see what they've done about it.
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
Wasn’t it only the first gen Model S which overheated on track? Then they added ludicrous mode which also needs specific parameters to work but people who are missing the point don’t realise it will still do 3 second launches non stop in its standard mode without overheating. Then they added the same batteries as the Model 3 which also manages to be driven on track without overheating doesn’t it.

It does seem very unfortunate that they now have cars called the Macan and also the Taycan. Is the next one going to be the Praia da Luz?

Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
clearly the S model actually means 'suspect'.
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
Porsche Murat (allegedly).
Re: Porsche Taycan first drive - Fully Charged
Not sure, never seen anything (haven't looked tbh) to say Model S cooling changed. This video shows a Tesla 3 doing 31 launches in 28min, which is cool and impressive but that's nowhere near circuit loads.Mito Man wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 1:05 pm Wasn’t it only the first gen Model S which overheated on track? Honestly I would love to see Tesla do a number on the Taycan at the 'Ring, it'd be a huge accomplishment and kick-off a proper EV-road record era. I suspect they may wait for the new Roadster though for a proper attempt.
