Anyone in Edinburgh 22nd Aug ?
This is going through BCA. It's the wrong colour but it's done 64k miles so should be my end of the market. I'm interested to know what it sells for vs. the cars I can see being retailed (and not selling...)

Shut up, voice of reason, you're not welcome.

Valid
It's like the "Has anyone been to [for example] Greece?" threads. I imagine that yes, they have - the Greeks, for a start

Bunk off, it's fun going to the auctions !
ORLY ? I can see from their site it's not their usual kind of car, but a quick Google didn't throw up much else info. Are we talking Keighley or Chippeduk levels of bad ?
Re: Anyone in Edinburgh 22nd Aug ?
Mate bought a Range Rover from them. Thy cocked up the registration and it was registered to him on the previous private plate. They then passed his details to the previous owner who called my mate directly to threaten him.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 11:50 amBunk off, it's fun going to the auctions !

BCA Edinburgh is a very dodgy place to go shopping. Reputation is that it's where you go for money laundering purposes and to unload complete lemons.
I won't use them personally after I bought a 944 out of there that turned out to be Cat C. I got my money back minus the buyers premium, but when I dug a little deeper, I discovered that the vendor was unloading multiple undeclared write-offs, and that on return of the 944, BCA just ran it through the Wishaw auction a week later, again, undeclared - i.e. at best they're complicit in the scam, at worst directly involved.

I wondered what happened to that 944 you posted pics of.
Re: Anyone in Edinburgh 22nd Aug ?
As I often do when taking possession of a new car, I did a bit of detective work and phoned up the bloke named on the most recent invoice. His first words to me were "you've not bought that heap of shite, have you?". He subsequently explained that he'd been instructed to do the cheapest possible bodge to get a badly t-boned car vaguely Porsche-shaped again, and listed about a dozen things that he had "strongly advised" the customer to replace but was denied. Bullet dodged.

Ah yes - for clarity. The one I'm talking about was a guards red 2.5 na.
The blue one belonged to my friend Dennis and was bloody lovely - very last of the line S2 with the 3.0 engine and quite a few 968 bits

Yeah it was the blue S2 I was thinking of.
Weirdly our old white S2 was in my dreams last night. I was replacing the oem PPF section on the rear arch (in my dream this covered the whole arch) and as I peeled back the old stuff I found lumpy dented metal underneath. Wtf? I layed the PPF back down and it was perfectly flat. I pulled it off again and found a layer of sound-deadening material on the back of the PPF which was masking the bodywork damage (from a previous owner). I have no idea how this stuck to the car, but it was most annoying.
