Peak District question
We'll be in the area briefly on Saturday. Is there anywhere within a short drive of Matlock in the SE Peak District that worth a visit for a couple of hours to show the kids some nice scenery and to give them a taste of the area, before heading south? Sadly I think a blat along the Cat & Fiddle or Snake Pass are out of the question

Chatsworth house.

I was up in the PD last week seeing family - one afternoon we climbed up Thorpe Cloud at Dovedale which was good - we had 2 kids @ 7&8 who managed it fine, but I wouldn’t try it with any younger!

Ah, those both look like good options. Thanks. That walk would certainly tire the kids out, and me if I end up with the younger one on my shoulders.

I wouldn’t want to do it with a kid on my shoulders! It gets pretty steep!

Fair enough, thanks for the warning. He's a good climber so might relish that bit
