The purple probably started like as being 'not quite black but as close as we can get hold of' and then faded a bit over the years. It's cool as fuck, and I really don't think it counts as a Jobbo interior because I can't imagine anyone not coveting it absolutely. I'm certainly not unhappy to be associated with it; I just don't think I'm sufficiently worthy!

That W123 AMG estate is just glorious. I wonder when it was converted to an AMG? The Pentas are period correct but the seats look more mid-late 80s. I'm annoyed at Ste posting it because I'm really going to have to look through the rest of the auction as well now

That's one of the best replies I've ever seen 8-)

Go through the whole catalogue, it's glorious.

That's my kind of sale, I want it all.

The Alpina 8 series is the first car I've seen that I like on those multi spoke wheels, the 850 on throwing stars still looks better though.

I count Jobbo interior basic requirements as:

- unconventional coloured seats
- wood trim
- Black steering wheel

Wasn’t this based on a green leather 5 series you had once apon a time?

I've been through it now. Some lovely stuff; there's a similar age Alpina B9 with what I thought were the same seats but in unfaded state - but now I've studied them a bit more, perhaps the B7 Turbo seats are intended to be that colour. Even better 8-)

ETA: yes, it was from the E34 I had with gorgeous green extended leather trim.

My other faves (though the AMG estate is the best):
VW Thing - https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az19 ... ing/726462
RS200 Evo - https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az19 ... ion/733582
Corvette C4 ZR1 - https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/fl19 ... zr1/733367 (always had a thing for these ever since Performance Car's cover story in May 1989 with Carcassonne in the background)

Interesting (to me) - that RS200 hasn't got the little transfer-box 2WD / 4WD lever that some have. I thought they all had it:
