Diesel BM Owners

You might want to get on the blower to your dealership to get your car in for recall before this happens:

This "rat look" nonsense is really getting out of hand.

From what I've read it's Aug 2010 to Aug 2017. So I can't see why it wouldn't be covered.

Scratch that, I can see from the BMW list it isn't. Someone on PH though has an F31 2014 and their dealership has submitted a claim for an EGR cooler issue despite not being on the list.

F30s are definitely getting a bit hot

Quite a few on PH having their cars held by BMW due to the risk, and not currently having the parts supply to fix.

Are you sure that's not just a new paint option? Sintered grey?

That's what happens to the frozen grey if you polish it.

A lot seem to be being spotted whilst they're in for other work Scott, with owners being told essentially out of the blue about this issue. Surprised that they haven't added it to the general recall yet tbh.

ive just checked the dvla recall site.

That frazzled mess of a 320 ED has a recall outstanding but our 318 doesnt. Not sure what the recall is as the DVLA site doesnt list it.

If you've bought a '18d BMW just let you burn ;)

(Not as good a joke now they do a 316d as well)
