Banksy - brilliant
Re: Banksy - brilliant
He’s a bit hit or miss for me, but this really did make me laugh earlier.

Re: Banksy - brilliant
Loving his work
Went to the opening day of his Dismaland exhibition - also brilliant.

I love Banksy but I’m having a hard time believing Sotheby’s didn’t know that was in there.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
Re: Banksy - brilliant
It’s surely worth even more now following all the news about it?
How about not having a sig at all?

This. They say they acquired the painting 12 years ago. There’s no way the batteries lasted that long.tim wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 7:36 am I love Banksy but I’m having a hard time believing Sotheby’s didn’t know that was in there.

Wot Tim and mito said.
Clever stunt but has to be a setup.
Wouldn't even surprise me if the real picture was rolled up inside and it was a duplicate which got got shredded.

It must be as the Mail on Sunday said it was today. (No I didn't buy itMito Man wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:54 am It’s surely worth even more now following all the news about it?

It’ll be the real thing, for sure
But it was only partially shredded, as per every picture you’ve seen
I rather expect after the auction the buyer was offered to back out of the sale, if they wanted to. I would be astounded if they backed out though, this is surely more interesting, more Banksy, more well known and with a better story than before. Also, presumably more valuable too, if they’re into that sort of thing
Re: Banksy - brilliant
Yes - i expect the whole thing will now be put into a bigger frame and be worth more. Because art.

It depends what you think his art is. His pictures are interesting, but his trolling is world class.

Yes and obviously for him to be able to determine the correct time for it to shred itself he'd need to have included a receiver to remotely trigger the shredder.NotoriousREV wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 9:51 amThis. You'd kind of hope Sotheby's security would flag up something that has many of the constituent parts of a homemade explosive device...

ok, I’ll cast a rod out for your blatant fishing trip.
Who do you rate M Zedleg?
Re: Banksy - brilliant
Honestly wasn't a fishing trip, I'm not saying I'm a big expert on art. I just think Banksy's biggest talent is self promotion, which is fine. I find his art boring though.
An absolute unit

Well it’s just some simple stencils In the end, I don’t think the actual application is the point.
The irony is off the scale when stating that someone who’s managed to make millions whilst hiding their true identity’s biggest talent is self promotion!
