Reminds me of the trend in the 90s to do this on mountain bikes. My brother drilled out his cranks (at school using the CDT dept pillar drill) and stuff like derailleurs, even the jockey wheels!

Probably fine for a scrawny 13 year old probably weighing fuck all and hardly testing the limits!

This is guaranteed via the copious fuel tank speed holes. Fuel is heavy man.

Cool, but I think 'best handling fwd car' is a title which it lost many years ago and now it's more of a curio than desirable.

That. I actually like that shape elan, and would like to have one, but not over other machinery. As it would be an oddball choice I think I’d be going full weird and tracking down a Kia branded one

I like it, I think they still look pretty good. Still think it’s a shame they’re fwd. Cheap enough to have a bit of fun with.

yeah I’m sure someone with a 10 year list is far more adept at draining the oil and chucking some fresh stuff in than anyone else whose ever worked on a 4 cylinder engine from the 90s…

We did - due to the mileage.

No issue with this car, but I never had any desire for this vintage of Elan due to FWD.

The Elan looks great from the rear - very square, very wide. I've always thought they looked like they'd got the wrong springs installed as they sit really high. Unfortunately, I don't think they can run any lower without ripping the sump off.

Yeah, they are very odd in profile due to the tip toe ride height - they’ve never appealed in the slightest tbh, i’d rather have something like a clio 182.

This is as close to perfect as you can get, IMO.
Only real fly in the ointment is that centre console protrusion. And - while I know it's classic RUF design - I'd prefer something more OEM style for the wheels, although keeping the size/offset to maintain the stance.

I wonder how much he's spent with them since 2007, on this one and his other 3 Lotuses.

But regarding servicing, I still get my Swift - which is probably worth £5k at the most - serviced by the original supplying Suzuki dealer, who I bought it from. They are pretty reasonably priced and their coffee and wifi are decent.

This is as close to perfect as you can get, IMO.

Inside has that classic "exploded can of paint" Porsche interior - could do with more bits (like the wheel and gear lever) left black IMHO.

Outside looks lovely though, and those Ruf wheels are one of the bestestest wheel designs.
