No surprise - his government now admits the pool wasn’t vandalised, and was just shitty workmanship all along.

Unbelievable. As someone posted elsewhere, you have to double check this isn't being posted on The Onion:

Every news story about the latest thing he’s said or done, in my head the words “…because he’s a fcuking moron” get added and it’s never wrong.

Also apparently Capital One closed his bank accounts in 2021, which Trump is suing them for, claiming it was politically motivated, as per.

But as part of the ongoing back and forth between lawyers...
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... laundering
Capital One has never accused the Trump Organization of money laundering. But Friday’s filing argues that “documents and Plaintiffs’ own ‌allegations make clear that Capital One closed ‌Plaintiffs’ accounts for anti-money laundering (‘AML’) reasons.

“The closures were the result of months of analysis and a careful review by ‌Capital One’s AML team in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidance.”

Capital One gave notice of its plans to close more than 300 Trump-affiliated bank accounts in March 2021.
...which wasn't publicly known before.

And he's just done a soft TACO on his attack on the BBC. Having claimed $10bn for financial & reputational harm (LOL), the BBC said "OK, prove the financial harm, show us your accounts" and the judge sided with the BBC, and ordered him to produce the records.

It's TACO time !

He's now backpedalling and asking permission to revise the claim to just the reputational harm bit. But still for $10bn. LOL.

But I still don't think I've seen any explanation why a Florida court has any jurisdiction over the BBC in the first place ? So fair play to the BBC for staring him down on this.

It also led to various wonderful “BBC” headlines like: "TRUMP CAN'T HANDLE BBC", "TRUMP IN PAIN OVER BBC INTRUSION", etc.

I hadn't realised he'd flown out on the new Air Force 1. I do believe he's going to try to keep it when his presidency ends. So it makes sense that he would protect it and would consider the old Air Force 1 expendable. Trump gives absolutely no shit about anyone but him; we knew that. But his disdain for human life is disgusting - the ICE victims, the staff and press on this plane, so many other examples.

It's more likely that the old plane has an enormous amount of security and counter-measure features whereas the new one has nice cup holders...

Funnily enough, this whole thing reminded me of how the Cullinan diamond was transported to England from South Africa
In 1905, the 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond was sent from South Africa to England in a plain, unmarked box via ordinary registered parcel post. Authorities used a heavily guarded steamship carrying a fake decoy stone as a decoy to trick potential thieves, allowing the real gem to arrive safely and quietly in London.

Heard the other military plane go over closely tailing af1, maybe they were further apart when it left, but you’d thing anyone targeting af1 would also go after the support plane too anyway? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I did click on it at the time to see what it was but couldn’t have screen grabbed it.

I've already used the word "debacle" once on here today, and now Velma uses it (at least) another twice.

It's definitely interesting though being so abbreviated it's hard to see how things follow. For instance:

"1989 (age 42): Trump buys the profitable Eastern Air Lines Shuttle for $365 million and renames it Trump Shuttle. It loses $126 million within 18 months. By September 1990, it is unable to meet its obligations. When USAir eventually takes over the operation in 1997, it is valued at just $285 million, a full $80 million less than Trump paid for it."

So it lost $126m in 18 months and became unable to meet its obligations - that implies it was pretty much valueless because it was insolvent by Sept 1990. However, it was taken over in 1997, so Trump successfully ran it for a further 7 years and increased the value to $285m by the time he sold it. OK, he probably way overpaid in the first place but this one doesn't have enough detail as to what happened to evidence Trump being bad at running a business; of the face of it, it looks like he turned round an ailing business having maybe been suckered into paying too much for it.

ETA: maybe the untold bit is important: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_Shu ... fficulties
