Saw quite a few Tentboxes on the campsite we were on last week. Clearly people only staying for a day or two as they couldn't drive anywhere once parked. I'd assumed £3k as the rough cost for one. Saw one on top of a 15-plate Auris - the tent must have been worth more than the car. Also, surely no more than two people can fit in one. There was another similar one, though a different make, on top of a Jeep, that had a scissor type arrangement to extend the roof part upwards. Some Belgians had a TextBox mounted on top of a micro caravan, using the latter for storage. That looked pretty cool but does that really have the means to support the weight of two people in one...

We picked up a Slumit Cub popup tent for my daughter to have her own space (and annoy us less) and that was really quick to pitch. Approx 4% of the price of a TentBox. Bigger versions are available.

On eBay there are some tent boxes that have sold for £550 - £1k, which is a little bit more reasonable for a trial
