Re: Elon Musk/Tesla
Anecdotal I know, but the vast majority of my uber rides are either just me or me and one other (like Rimac states), so why does everyone think they need bigger vehicles? It’ll just be like now, pick the type of vehicle that has enough seats when you order your cab/uber etc. Unless you all want to sit behind an empty row of seats? Two seats, bigger doors ftmfw
Cheers,
Ian

I’m sure the vast majority of taxi rides are for one or two passengers.
However if you were designing a single taxi platform for your company you’d probably want it to fit as many scenarios as possible and be as easy for people of all ages and abilities to get in and out of. A low coupe with bonnet and dropping tail is a poor use of its footprint when the primary function is transporting people and you’re not restricted by a traditional powertrain layout.
It’s not yours, why do you care what it looks like? It will most likely be used in towns and cities at speeds where aerodynamics isn’t a major concern.
I don’t use taxis, haven’t ever used Uber, I’m not particularly bothered by it, it just seems some odd engineering choices.

The important thing to remember is that these have been designed, at a high level, by people who hate people who don't have limo drivers. The idea of getting on a train digusts them, and using a bus? They'd rather shoot themselves in the face.
Hence two seats tops - why would you want to be in a vehicle with anyone other than the tech bro you're making a hundred million dollar deal with, or the sex worker you've hired because your personality gives women red flags from 50ft?
