TFL website / app

Post by integrale_evo »

Why why why can I not just type in my reg and see what I need to pay? Why do you make people guess?

Obviously YOU know exactly what zones I have entered and when, there’s no reason you can’t tell people what they need to pay.

Nope, you’d rather let them figure it out because it stacks the odds in your favour.

Get it wrong and pay for days or services you didn’t need to? TFL wins and get a bonus payment they weren’t expecting

Get it wrong and DONT pay for a service you needed to, tfl sends you and fine and wins again.

Drove into central London last night, wasn’t sure how timings for Ulez work - turns out it’s midnight to midnight not a 24h period from when you enter. Wasn’t sure whether I entered before midnight, but definitely didn’t leave until after. Have had to pay two days worth as a result just in case.

As a newb who hasn’t driven into London for decades I was surprised at the lack of signposting about it, maybe there is some but it doesn’t seem very obvious when you’re battling with unfamiliar surroundings, London traffic and lunatic deliveroo riders.

Wonder how many other traffic infringement notices I’ll end up getting for blindly following Google? 😅

As TFL make Stalin look like a naughty scamp I'd say your frustration is well earned.

Yes it’s a shit system that’s designed to make tourists doubt themselves and pay up anyway. It’s worth signing up for autopay, especially with so many people round cutting down cameras as quite often you don’t get picked up.
How about not having a sig at all?

On the flip side I somehow managed to get a £108.50 Dartcharge fine reduced to £3.50 in the phone yesterday, so I love them right now.

I was going to, but you can only add 5 cars, if I add the 5 currently roadworthy ones we have how will I remember to pay if I take one of the other ones in?

Also, why bother with an app if it can’t even accept Apple / Google pay? Seems to be card payments only?
