Yes, believe that's the idea - they do pre-mapping and photogrammetry etc so that the main robotaxis don't have to.

As opposed to using the lidar on the taxis so they can do real depth measurement in real time, etc.

Because, you know, lidar sucks and computer vision is all you need!

It’s like reverse copying, given all the Chinese vehicles coming out now with it built in

Surprised the stock is only down 2% currently. Their earnings which they released this quarter are an absolute dumpster fire.

That. EPS of $0.40 when a share is valued at $330? What the absolute?

I genuinely think people have tied their entire identity to Musk and his 13-year-old-in-1983 idea of futurism and to sell their shares would quite literally break their personality.

....mind you that doesn't explain the institutional investors, of which I assume there are plenty.

"The biggest asset for Tesla is Musk, the board need to do this, and I believe it's a huge step forward."

He added that during the "AI arms race", the firm could not afford to have Musk only "semi-committed".
Rinse and repeat for each of his businesses?

You'd think Musk had stuffed the board with fan-boy sycophants or something...

Musk awarded $1tn pay package/plan on the same day OpenAI was asking Trump to underwrite their debt/loans to the tune of $1.4tn

WTF kind of mental time are we living in?!

Because it’s hard to grasp the scale of these numbers… a billion seconds is about 32 years, a trillion seconds is about 32 _thousand_ years

There’s some pretty lofty targets associated with that though - he would have to raise the company's market capitalization, the value of all its stock put together, from about $1.5 trillion today to above $8.5 trillion as well as a load of other stuff.

It’s great that the richest man on the planet, who can buy whatever he desires, is still driven by….. wads more money.

From the shareholders perspective it's a no brainer though. Let Elon have his pay package as he attempts to pump the stock up 800%. You're not gonna turn down free money... I think he'll struggle to achieve the physical goals.

They appear to require a totally unachievable rate of growth, and the reality is Tesla sales are declining: https://www.statista.com/statistics/502 ... eliveries/

So he won't see the money but he'll have felt better about winning

Yes, he's absolutely done that, pretty much as described.

As a broader update:
After saying he wasn't in the files, he's now in the files.

After saying he was in the files, but he saw sense and never went to the island, he's seen asking to go to the island. On Christmas Day 2012, he emailed Epstein saying he wanted to "let loose" and not have a "peaceful island experience". When Epstein warned him that the "ratio" on the island might make his wife uncomfortable, Musk replied that the "ratio is not a problem for Talulah."

So he wanted to """let loose""" with the world’s most famous (at the time) convicted child sex offender who had just plea-bargained down from major child sex trafficking charges, to avoid a lengthy trial, via a very dodgy plea deal....

As more people have been digging, more ties to Epstein keep appearing, including going to dinners (photographic evidence of him with Epstein, taken by and shared by Epstein) etc. Emails confirm he requested to visit, but so far logs/emails do not show he actually went - though his daughter, Vivian (the one he claims is dead cos she's trans), recently posted on Threads confirming the family was indeed in St. Barts during that period - a short hop by chopper from that island.

Also while we're here, the UK have OFCOM threatening to toothlessly gum him over the kiddy grot and agitprop, the French have opened a criminal investigation into Twitter for the same, and Spain and I think Germany are doing similar.

At the moment, France has asked him and Yaccarino to turn up 'voluntarily' about this, to explain themselves (as she's CEO and he's been classed as 'editor in chief' by his own posts on Twitter saying he'd fix things to suit his views etc - that makes him liable for it in French law). If they don't turn up, they'll likely become criminal suspects in the criminal case - a case they've already raided Twitter's Paris office over.

Oh, and if the French decide Twitter didn't do enough to prevent CSAM, actively promoted it etc (which is likely given how he gloated about it, then charged for it...) then there's a solid chance of a 6% global revenue turnover fine through the EU Digital Services act - particularly if Germany and Spain concur.

Which on xAI and Twitter wouldn't have been much as their revenue is crap. On the newly merged, trillion dollar SpaceX/xAI/Twitter structure, that would be rather a lot, and the EU absolutely will not accept shares or IOUs, etc, as payment - they'll want liquid assets. Which they likely don't have. Musks businesses tend to be credit rich and cash poor.

Musk might be fully fucking cooked.

Oh, and btw, Elon has now decided that Mars might be a bit too complicated ( they weee supposed to be sending people there this year) so has instead he wants to build a datacentre on the moon.

And Tesla stock price has had another little upward bump.

Mental.
