Yes, believe that's the idea - they do pre-mapping and photogrammetry etc so that the main robotaxis don't have to.

As opposed to using the lidar on the taxis so they can do real depth measurement in real time, etc.

Because, you know, lidar sucks and computer vision is all you need!

It’s like reverse copying, given all the Chinese vehicles coming out now with it built in

Surprised the stock is only down 2% currently. Their earnings which they released this quarter are an absolute dumpster fire.

That. EPS of $0.40 when a share is valued at $330? What the absolute?

I genuinely think people have tied their entire identity to Musk and his 13-year-old-in-1983 idea of futurism and to sell their shares would quite literally break their personality.

....mind you that doesn't explain the institutional investors, of which I assume there are plenty.

"The biggest asset for Tesla is Musk, the board need to do this, and I believe it's a huge step forward."

He added that during the "AI arms race", the firm could not afford to have Musk only "semi-committed".
Rinse and repeat for each of his businesses?

You'd think Musk had stuffed the board with fan-boy sycophants or something...

Musk awarded $1tn pay package/plan on the same day OpenAI was asking Trump to underwrite their debt/loans to the tune of $1.4tn

WTF kind of mental time are we living in?!

Because it’s hard to grasp the scale of these numbers… a billion seconds is about 32 years, a trillion seconds is about 32 _thousand_ years

There’s some pretty lofty targets associated with that though - he would have to raise the company's market capitalization, the value of all its stock put together, from about $1.5 trillion today to above $8.5 trillion as well as a load of other stuff.

It’s great that the richest man on the planet, who can buy whatever he desires, is still driven by….. wads more money.

From the shareholders perspective it's a no brainer though. Let Elon have his pay package as he attempts to pump the stock up 800%. You're not gonna turn down free money... I think he'll struggle to achieve the physical goals.

They appear to require a totally unachievable rate of growth, and the reality is Tesla sales are declining: https://www.statista.com/statistics/502 ... eliveries/

So he won't see the money but he'll have felt better about winning
