Another, another new car thread.
Collected my new 5dr M140i Shadow edition today. It's chuffing great!
Had a good run back from London to N.Yorkshire with the last 15 miles a nice fast B road blast (trying not to give the brakes to much hammer). It even managed 38.5mpg which is pretty decent. Having a smaller tank and bigger appetite than the than the diesel C Class will take a little getting used to as the fuel gauge drops at a much more significant speed than I'm used to
The adaptive dampers seem to have been a great choice. When cruising on the M/way the ride is less fidgety than with passives and in Sport+ it firms up very nicely. Grip from the MPSS's is fantastic. I'm really going to enjoy this car!!!
I'll post pictures tomorrow as I haven't got any yet I'm sure some will find the interior (Cognac) a little challenging but I really like it. Mineral Grey paint and dark grey wheels with the black trim make it look stealthy. Me likey!

Why London, did you get if from that guy on the BabyBMW forum? You’ll love it, the M135i is the car I most regret selling.
Re: Another, another new car thread.
Managed to take some photos at long last.
Re: Another, another new car thread.
Have you blanked out the numberplates using photoshop? It's hard tell....

Yes, _he_ did
Re: Another, another new car thread.
As well as the 60-100 on our local deserted airstrip my test pilot tried some 0-100 runs using launch control.
Run one started with the spazpilot not engaging LC correctly, doing a rolling burnout and continuing into the run which was rubbish Smoke, crabbing, massive 11, traction then great acceleration. Funny but rubbish.
Run two began with the correct LC start, smoking tyres, big 11 grip and great acceleration.
I need to find a private airstrip with better traction
For a family hatchback it really does haul quite well (500nm helps!)

Re: Another, another new car thread.
OI! None of that gay Nm nonsense here, lb/fts only, thank you.
Re: Another, another new car thread.
Is it 369 lb/ft? Same as my E39 M5 if so and it seems to be a fairly common number in German cars.
Re: Another, another new car thread.
Nice. But I think someone's already vandalized it
Any interior shots?

I found some test figures for the M140i.
1/4 mile in 12.9 @ 108mph
62mph in 4.7
100mph in 10.7
124mph in 17.9
40-70mph in 3secs
50-90mph in 5.4secs
8th gear is for 282mph

Impressive!
Re: Another, another new car thread.
Yesterday evening I took my 84yr old neighbour for a spin. He was desperate to see what it goes like so we hit some local fast A & B roads. He loved how well it went and was surprised at the braking and corner speed and also the ride quality. The old boy was grinning like a Cheshire cat when we got back.

Good skills
I remember taking my mum and Grandma out in the VR6 when i first had it - peage GP FTW. OK it wasn't that quick really, but the ole girl was egging me on
