Uncool cars with pop up headlights

Post by Jimmy Choo »

Watching the Autoalex video where he buys a Volvo 480 turbo, they say they can't think of any car with pop up headlights that aren't cool.

I don't think the Ferrari Mondial is cool. Are there any others you lot can think of?

An MR2-based 355 replica is seriously uncool.

I was never a fan of the look of the cizeta v16 headlights, with that double stacked pop up, but I don’t think you can really call a 16 cylinder engine uncool

I'm not having that, what's not cool about that in the early 80's?

And the later wide body ones look fantastic even now.

That goes for all of them though. Maybe we need a "What cars with pop up headlights look cool cool when their lights are popped up?" thread.

I think Barker described it as "a lot of awful car for the money". I kinda like them but I'd take a 3rd gen supra over them any day.

A fine example of the marquee.

But Toyota managed to make the Supra not look like it was falling asleep all the time. :P

Ford probe for example 😄

The c4 corvette had very cool ones which kind of backflip out 😎

Plenty of other US ones I can think of with retractable covers, but they don’t really count.
