Would be proper man maths involved for the fuel bill.

The other one was even worse to get out, so now just need to work out how to get them up and onto the trailer. Another day of digging and breaking beckons.

I decided to tackle my slow draining bathroom sink problem this evening, which I think I caused by washing paint brushes earlier in the year.
Disassembled the whole P trap but it was all surprisingly clean, I did have a perished and split rubber gasket - @jamcg any idea what replacement I need?
Also the portion of the pipe that goes into the porcelain at the bottom - is that just a massive bracket? Or is there a hair trap type thing in there?

Actually thinking about this I didn’t even get to a P trap, I just removed the horizontal bit, I think the P trap goes in
inside the tiled wall

That’s a really weird looking thing, appears to be some sort of space saving bottle trap. I’d try and find a bit of pipework and work back from there and replace with standard Mcalpine p trap. If not just pop into your local diy place and see if they have an 1 1/4” flat rubber washer. If all else fails you can wrap the plastic with a thick layer of ptfe tape and build it up into a new washer

Must be like that so the drawer can fit, but I couldn’t remove that bottom bit and felt like I was going to break the whole thing, which then disappears into the wall.
I’ll go later and see if they have any suitable washers, and ask for the strongest drain cleaner available.

What does it look like above the metal threaded section we can see? There isn’t a trap further up is there?

I reckon the trap bit that goes into the wall must be glued to the pipework in the stud wall as there’s no coupling or anything, it’s just a straight bit of tube

Looks like there's a central section of pipe (from the sink) that's clipped into the trap, and that there are two return pipes (one either side) to the outflow. If you could get that downpipe out I'd suspect you'd then see how it's fitted.

I'd be shoving a thin drain cleaning doo-dah down there for a rummage around before I did anything more. This kinda thing.

Edit: after removing the horizontal section of drain to get direct access.

Hmm, I suspect you're right. Looks like a solvent weld jobbie. Bad news

Everything here is so stupid. I’ve realised you should never buy designer brands because they’re entirely form over function. The toilet flush stopped working a few months ago. Easy job to fix usually except the water tank was fitted in a cabinet, which had a granite cover siliconed to the wall. So the entire tank had to be removed to access the intervals and even then the parts inside were all of a proprietary design.
Called the Cossack who just ripped the entire thing out and fitted an off the shelf tank.

I had similar thinking but was only equipped with a bit of household electrical wire which I poked about and couldn’t get past the 180 degree bend of the trap.
It’s such a tight bend I doubt even that flexi tool would work.

They are cheap tools so possibly worth a shot?

Otherwise use the drain clearing attachment on your pressure washer, but for indoors, that might get a smidge messy.

I’ll make bendy wire thing plan C
Starting to sound like a Ferrari F1 pit strategy.

Plan D can be plug sink, fill with water, bring Karcher with special hose that lets it suck water. Attach chassis cleaner (it’s a very thin 90 degree metal lance) and go to war.

Might be a daft question, but have you tried a good old fashioned plunger ?

Yep, no good. I think it's because there must be dried paint in the trap causing the restriction rather than other gunk.

As mentioned on the garden/boundary disputes thread, after 7 years of living here we finally got around to renovating the crumbling wall and non-period path to the front of our house. Before/after pics below - path just needs grouting now and then a new privet hedge putting in but will probably wait for early spring given we're now in frost territory.
