Had a Chinook scoot past at speed a couple of hours ago (it's now by Bath), I wonder if it's involved?
Ooh, a Eurofighter; https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=43c7a6

Don’t think I I’ve seen as many typhoons in the air at once on the trackers before, loads of big military aircraft flying about and 4 Canadian f18’s knocking about too

Fao MarineTraffic fans. Spotted a big old yacht in Dartmouth today; it’s a 59m super yacht named Akula, flag is Cayman Islands and it launched in 2024. Not a looker, IMO:

Today's understatement was brought to you by Jobbo. :?

I'm sure it's sumptuous inside though.

I first saw it from the stern as I came into Dartmouth. Walked round and got back to the harbour side - to see what still appeared to be a stern at the other end. A very odd bow shape indeed.

That pic. looks Scandiwegian; bleak, with something readying to go north exploring the icy waters.

The water was lovely and blue a few minutes before. I took those photos and we headed swiftly back to the car. Then it rained like fuck.

I know you've gone to Dartmouth but I bet it made you Kingswear
It doesn't matter which bit where or when, it wouldn't be a GB/UK holiday without rain...

I forgot to mention this one. I was up in the hills around Penistone earlier this week and an Apache flew past at a very low altitude, very impressive and a rare sight around here 8-)

I don’t have cause to look at the radar nearly as often now I’m no longer living under the Brize Norton flight path. But I did click on ADSB Exchange yesterday and selected just military aircraft. There were very few up but at least four gliders in different parts of the country. No idea what they were doing.

We’ve had exercise strike warrior running last week, we’ve had fleet air arm Merlin helicopters going between a ship off the coast and Teesside airport, all flying reasonably low. Have seen the submarine hunters a few times but got this shot of the marine version on Friday

Learn something new everyday.
I could hear the border force drone all day yesterday, but it doesn't usually appear on radar (for obvious reasons I suppose)

I think any MOD/military aircraft taking an active role rather than just moving from a-b or taking part in training exercises has its transponders off, thats the data you get to see on these tracking pages rather than radar contacts
