Pixel Watch

Post by Simon »

I remember some on here got a PW1 for free with a PIxel 7 a couple of years back. Now it seems to have matured I ordered a PW3 45mm this year and it arrived yesterday. My first proper smartwatch after a few years of fitbits and I'm loving it so far. Seems to have really developed into a nice device, and good size too (at last).

Anyone else get one?

Yeah I got one free with a 7Pro a couple of years back. I think I lasted about 6mo wearing it and then sacked it off. Needed charging daily, the strap was a horrible rubber that just gets sweaty over the day, it's quite a thick thing, and it gets quite warm. It also felt like I was being nagged all the time with all the notifications, and that's as someone that doesn't really faff with socials other than Insta.

Bear in mind I stopped wearing a watch probably 15 years ago or more, which may go some way to explainign why I just found it annoying.

The wife has just dug the watch back out to see if she finds it any good for her netball umpiring, so we'll see how she gets on with that - new season starts tonight.

I'd consider another smartwatch but suspect I'd be better off looking more towards the Garmin end tbh - I'd get my best use out of something like that and my OS subscription.

I skipped the PW1 and 2 due to the poor reviews, but more interested in the 3 as it seems to have finally sorted the core issues.

They seem to discount quite quickly though so I might wait until things have died down.

Well I'm still on the first charge since it arrived yesterday morning. 28% left and that includes all the setup and playing of having a new shiny. Haven't taken it off yet, so did sleep tracking etc. Think it also helps that I've the bigger one, which gets a bigger battery.

I agree about the straps - on the looking for something better right now.

Very much the same here, the only real difference being I still wear my one although it'll quite often get put on charge and forgotten for a couple of days.

I'm currently getting my P7Pro USB socket fixed under warranty, which I'm probably then gonna use to trade in against a P9Pro XL - given P4s had battery issues (would stop charging), P6s are now having battery swelling issues, P7s have useless USB sockets etc, I wonder what fun crap the P9 will have?

I might have to have a look and see what deals there are and see of the Pixel Watch 3 can be got with a P9 Pro XL. I don't mind it and it has it's uses (saves me unpocketing the phone for notifications) but if there's no deals I won't cry about it.
