Oculus Rift
Oculus Rift
I'm on the cusp of buying a Rift. I know a few on here have them, but does anybody wear glasses? What's the effect?
Re: Oculus Rift
Ive got a Vive. It's fine with glasses, but better without (or with contacts). You can get closer to the lenses and slightly increase the FoV.
Same with the Rift.
Same with the Rift.
Re: Oculus Rift
I tried one on in John Lewis tonight (not running) and it goes over my specs fine, so that's ok.
But now I'm wondering if I need a Vive instead... now wait a Vive Pro.. AAAGGHHH.
Are all VR games compatible with all VR headsets?

Re: Oculus Rift
We've had one at work for years. They work fine with glasses AFAIK.
Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: Oculus Rift
Yep no issues with glasses on with the rift, get one!
Re: Oculus Rift
My only issue with HTC is their tremendously incompetent support. Stories of people wanting months for warranty replacements, or getting the same broken kit back is far too common. Thankfully, it does seems largely reliable, but if you are one of the unlucky ones, it can be a nightmare.
Re: Vive Pro, it's expensive. Higher res so higher PC requirements to match. It also has a better headset, is more comfortable and has integrated audio.
BUT! The Vive Pro is £800 just for the headset, you'll need the rest separately (2 Basestations (£250 pair) and two controllers (£240 pair)) bringing the total cost to nearly £1200.
The standard Vive is £500 and includes everything.
Also, re: games compatibility. Some games are Oculus or Vive exclusives. You can bodge some games to work on other headsets with 3rd party software.
Re: Oculus Rift
I went with the oculus in the end largely due to all the developer stuff that’s available.
Should be here in half hour.

Re: Oculus Rift
The first few hours in VR are amazing, it’s a shame you get used to it though and never get that mind blown feeling again.
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Oculus Rift
Still love using mine (not with glasses though, bought some lenses from www.vr-lens-lab.com, which work a treat).
