Re: For the FTAO of JL
Kind of related.. Edward Lovett on Collecting Cars podcast was stopped by police recently as he didn’t have a front number plate on.
The police told him he better hope this is the first time he’s been stopped as for a second offence the dvla will now reclaim your (typically private and bought a big expense) number plate and issue your car with a “Q” number plate.. so you lose an expensive plate and, as you can not change a Q plated car reg, probably lose value of the vehicle aswell. Should be an effective deterrent I imagine!

I was behind a A3 with OLIO KEW going through Bolnhurst this morning. Wasn't their any Ollie Kew of this parish?
Re: For the FTAO of JL
Yeah, Ollie Kew was a regular forumite back in the day (evo as opposed to ov9). I even sent him a couple of older mags. No idea if that is his plate though.

Spotted yesterday - “2 MEN” which I’ll admit did raise my eyebrow
edit - I’ve just googled and it doesn’t come back as a valid reg but I’m sure that’s what it was.

I’m so unbothered that it took your post to notice but that does amuse meRich B wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 4:43 pmfirst glance I thought you were making a dig at Jobbos size!DeskJockey wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 4:37 pm FTAO @Jobbo: MX5 just coming down the road with the plate MX51GET spaced as you'd expect.
I thought when I saw a notification for this thread that someone had posted Regtransfers’ listing of S2MON. I clicked to see how much they want: £27,000. Er, no. My rule of thumb is that Regtransfers list a plate at about twice its actual worth and even £13,500 seems expensive for it. Do not want, anyway.

For clarity it wasn't a dig at his size, we're all the size we're meant to be!
It should read as MX5 1 GET, with the 1 representing I. It was about his desire for yet another MX5.

It’s not just MX5 owners that shop at Lidl.
And to the eagle-eyed, yes, that is an Aldi on the other side of the road. I live in the kind of classy area that has a Lidl AND an Aldi
