Coffee beans

Post by JonMad »

A friend is turning 50 and his other half suggested some coffee beans as a gift, for his bean to cup machine.
Sounds good to me, but I've never bought any of them so have no idea what's good.

Any recommendations gratefully received. Probably spending about £50 so if there are a few varieties then I might get a selection. I can't imagine a single bag is that much but you never know.

I saw that pic on FB. I take it they cater more for wholesale than retail customers?

Cool, I might give them a try. I've been getting through loads since I started bringing a flask from home instead of drinking the instant at work .

My favourites so far for my BtC are from Union and are the Yayu wild forest from Ethiopia variety. Makes a great Cappucino, Latte or Espresso. Often on offer on Ocado.

Awesome, thanks guys. I like the subscription idea as a gift, especially as he'll then get a variety to try out. Didn't see any links to buy on here, Scott.

Tres Generaciones Peaberry from Costa Rica

From the Doka Estate

Best coffee I've ever had

Hard to get hold of here (I had to import some) so it would be really special for them (that you went to those lengths to find something)

I'm not a coffee person really but I had a Colombian Farmer at Francini Cafe de Colombia in Worcester recently, and it was so good I had it black. So if I were buying beans, I'd definitely give theirs a try: https://francinicafedecolombia.co.uk/pr ... fee-beans/

Not trying to promote Geoff and his conspiracy wibble but you can see the place on this video of his (starts about 25m30s - the time link doesn't seem to work as well as it did):

We have a local roaster in Baildon called Casa Espresso and their Volcano beans are absolutely amazing, in fact all their coffee is.
