I think it’s a limp mode on newer BMWs but also one of those stupidly vague messages which could mean anything from a fuel filler cap not fitted correctly to the engine being close to grenading itself. Used to get it on the i3 whenever it broke an engine mount.
How about not having a sig at all?

As a true IT professional, I switched it off for 10 mins and switched it back on, hoping it would go away but expecting the engine to explode. And it happens it started up with a very lumpy idle and I decided to take it home and call assist.
It's been into BMW Worcester a few times now, seemingly every time it has come out with a new issue, the last time they overfilled the coolant had forgot to refit panel pins. Im hopeful that it is as simple as electrics not being properly put back together and worked loose, which wouldn't be surprising.
Im already thinking about Giulia quadrifoglio or an amg gt63.

Bet they charge the thick end of £100/hr for that level of kwalitee service, too...

Fabia finally has a new clutch.
Sump guard mounting bar was in the way and the captive nuts were knackered (I thought it was welded on, obviously hadn't looked closely enough at it ) so the bolts had to be cut through. So need to get some new captive nuts put in to remount it to be able to put the sump guard back on. My man who did the clutch didn't have the tool needed to do it (three bolts through the underside of this, to hold the guard on on under the front of the car, 6 other bolts go in along the sides)
Here's the guard, all 25kg of it. A damn sight easier to get off the car than on it, even with the mounting bar attached!

Technical has diagnosed a fault with one of the injectors, he can access it without moving a pressurised coolant line, so it's going back into the garage. Despite the car telling me its ok to drive, he told me that its best not to drive it and its being recovered.

It's a very worn slick. I still have them, solely for the purposes of laying the sump guard on to fit/remove. Last used at Brands on a trackday where I spent most of the day watching my mirrors and being overtaken. Front left came off the rim - not ideal, but no harm done.
Yeah, I'll take the weight saving for autosolos. I'll probably also fit the Audi pepperpots for a bit more lightness.

Don't forget aiming the cabin vents up, to add downforce.

TVR MOT this evening. My usual guy has packed in automotive mechanics, sold his workshop and share in MOT centre to work on marine . Finding someone to MOT the TVR has been interesting, it should all be OK but I wanted someone who knew the foibles of a 90's handbuilt classic with mods (needing a super hot cat to get through emissions etc) so the guy that runs the roller discos came to the rescue (ex-bus mechanic and runs a Spitfire too) with a mate of his that runs a workshop that deals with old cars, so it's off there later today.
Having appendicitis didn't help as the MOT expired a week ago because I couldn't drive it, fingers crossed for a clean bill of health. Might visit the classic meet in Fleet if all is good later.

Not sure if it specifically helps with the TVR, but the place in Vulcan Way in Sandhurst gave my Smart a clean pass which was...... surprising. In a nice way.

That place might prove useful, I've had good reports for it before too and the MOT centre in Yateley too. The compact now has a fresh mot with no advisories.
Looking forward to using it again. Added bonus is any future mots will be well into more daylight months instead of the depths of winter!

1 minor advisory, needs new rear disc's and pads as they are corroded. Now need to find out what they were upgraded to so I can source them. Cosworth parts so at least I can get them.

Yeti passenger wing mirror glass fell out. We have it and it's in one piece. Can I just glue it back into the plastic shell? Any particular best adhesive for that?
