I just spotted a Facebook ad for a new Audi e-Tron GT. £28,000 dealer contribution. Though I’m sure I’ve seen a Taycan ad with £48k dealer contribution.

The porker seems less likely to need big bills, soon, but being a cat car, maybe more of a backroad rat that you could park up in town and not mind if it gets scratched up etc.

Not sure I'd trust a 25 year old jag for, well, anything. They weren't exactly a paragon of reliability out the factory...

You can get the XKR for similar money - they've aged well, looks wise, and it's a cheap (at least, initial cost) into a supercharged 5.0 V8 as well.

my friends mum had one, I remember the experience in the back with the top down (the car not his mum) was a bit crap because of all the folded hood making it feel a bit claustrophobic.

:D Not the roomiest, made tighter by the work to hold it together and keep the top up.
It wouldn't be any better in one of these https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 24&fromsra
It's a boring spec compared to the 205.

The Roland Garros was a very cool 205. I’d rather have a hard top, and 134k miles is well over double the point at which they used to fall apart like a clown car (according to buying guides in the early 90s) but the green paint, white leather and XS spec otherwise is just brilliant.

A mate had a RG cab in the late 90s. He put some awful wheels on it IIRC.

I tested a RG 106 once apon a time too, I'm only a size 9 1/2 shoe, but I couldn't press one pedal at a time. I took my snow shoes off first.

My friend's brother bought the 306 RG brand new in 90something. It was quite a nice thing and the green/cream looked very nice. Compared to his other car (SII 88" land rover) it was positively decadent, although not as nice as his dad's Alfa 156 V6.

Kinda want. A Cayenne GTS to replace my non-GTS. It’s the same colour so I could probably swap it over without the wife noticing

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166667577686

HOWEVER big red flag in the description:

The car has 2 warning lights shown but these have been fully investigated by Graham reader garage and are not mechanical and do not effect the mot.

I wonder why you’d declare that, but not say what the problems are ? Hmm.

It’s also 300 miles each way to collect it.

I really don’t know. These cars are generally pretty tough. Suspension fault maybe. Engine light should be an MOT fail ? I’m going to have to ask.
