Your fleet running reports

Foci seem to have a tendency for doors seals hanging out like a donkeys dick
Re: Your fleet running reports
It's a ford trait. The clips on the Mondeo break too.

That I also won't drive I'm a nightmare with cars. Good job I have an understanding wife.
I assume the Vantage fits your personal Fleet Sports Car needs so well,
Great problems to have, I'm very jealous!

"Corporate wants you to find the difference between these three lambda sensors"
Ferrari part number 182837: £339.36 + VAT + delivery
Maserati part number 182837: £200.00 + VAT + delivery
Yes, Ferrari & Maserati use the same part number but charge wildly different prices depending on the box.
Bosch part number 0258007071: £115.01 inc VAT, a 5% discount if you buy two, free delivery, and currently a 20% promo on top
So seeing as I need to buy a pair, that's £174.82 instead of well over £800. Mental.

Or perhaps take out some kind of fleet hire insurance and make some money on the side hiring them out (wasn't there a website / app for this a while back?).DeskJockey wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:39 pmHave you thought about some kind of business case where you buy mildly borked vehicles, enjoy the process of fixing them, drive them a bit, then sell them on? Feels like you should be able to make it work.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:30 amThat I also won't drive I'm a nightmare with cars. Good job I have an understanding wife.

-Wednesday Tank Top Premium Vehicles
Re: Your fleet running reports
It's all relative....when you're buying 6-figure cars. I suspect your average Ferrari owner cares as much about £200 vs £800 as much as a typical punter at a Ford dealership cares about £20 vs £80.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:11 pm "Corporate wants you to find the difference between these three lambda sensors"

Also Ferrari owners seem particularly affected by mileage and what kind of stamp is in their book.
So a bill for an excessive amount is quite possibly a badge to be obtained come resale.
Dave!

Re: Your fleet running reports
In the US at least, is is, it definitely is. I had a brief forum conversation about this just the other week. The switches etc. in the 360 have that soft touch rubbery coating that goes horrible & sticky. Someone proudly posted that they paid $4k to have it cleaned up. I spent £6.79 on some IPA and did it myself.
Another time someone described how their cambelt change was $10k because the dealer had to remove the engine. You don't need to remove the engine, there's a hatch in the bulkhead specifically for this job. But the dealer told him it was "better" to take the engine out and the guy was happy to pay extra for a "better" job. It was blatantly just the dealer wanting to keep the workshop busy.
Maybe I should move to America and set up as a Ferrari specialist....

Re: Your fleet running reports
Same, I’ll quite happily save £60 and have the same parts in a slightly different box please
Cheers, Harry
Re: Your fleet running reports
You can set up a shop here and charge the same as the Americans. Some of the quotes from Harry’s Garage are laughable.
How about not having a sig at all?

You'll find that Steve buying the 360 has resulted in no change to the average monthly mileage on the VantageRich B wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 3:32 pmhow many miles has the Vantage done since you got the 360 Steve?mik wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 2:38 pmSundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 10:30 am

Oi !!
It’s true that the Aston has done zero miles since buying the Ferrari. I got the Ferrari in July last year, the MOT ran out on the Aston in Sep and I totally forgot about it because new toy BUT it had already done 180 miles since the previous Sep.
The Bentley is now the high-miler, doing a 160 mile round trip to the office every Thursday.

Did a Walshy fun day at North Weald yesterday with some folks off SELOC. Can't have much more fun for £100! 12 cars, so you don't get a ton of time on the various circuits or much tuition (although Walshy did jump in with me once, and I have been before so that's ok), but still a load of fun.
What a machine it is! So alive, but so intuitive, after a few runs it almost felt like the car was connected directly to my brain (shame my brain isn't a better driver really ). Not tons of grip on the AD08RS (really I'm comparing that to the last car I drove that hard which was my 7 on ZZS), but that probably added to the fun.
Car rolls quite a bit on the Bilsteins, but if anything with the slightly bumpy mishmash of tarmac over there that was an advantage. I think on a proper track it'd be a bit less desirable.
They usually do 12 cars with SELOC, I reckon 8 cars would be the sweet spot between a bit of social and plenty of time on the circuits. We should do an ov9 day!
Anyway, @dan I salute you, the car was a joy.

I'd be down for another - I really enjoyed mine, but the Exige kept breaking down on the day so I never got a chance to really get into it. I did mine with Ben and his 964, plus another forumite (can't remember who it was....owned the RX7 with a V8 in it?) and adds to the social element.
So yeah, let me know. Hopefully I'll be in something more interesting by then....
