The Danish should rule the world!!!

Post by V8Granite »

I just used a Danish rotary cheese slicer, it has taken cheese slicing to a new efficient realm that will speed up my cheese based tasks, saving me thousands of hours over a lifetime.

Ooh - I used one of them quite recently. They are CAF (although you can never stop at one slice).

I would describe them as satisfyingly heart attack inducing.
How about not having a sig at all?

For a cheese board type scenario then maybe but it looks like a very complicated and ultimately less efficient solution what is a simple action.

Your blocks of cheese need to be the same size or else you're just cutting one
Only works on Cuboid shaped cheeses. What about the multitude of other shapes and sizes
Your slices are uniform in thickness. You can't choose to have a thicker slice with this cracker

etc. etc.

Sure it's a little more hygienic than the usual approach of cheese knife's and slicers but you still have to use then on your softer cheeses, your wedges shapes etc

And if you just need a few slices for a sandwich, are you really going to get this out... and then clean it ??

I was gonna berate the use of square blocks in this then I noticed that that is a different cheese slicer to the one I’m familiar with and is actually designed for square blocks

I like this style for the miniature wheels of cheese

Hey, I can be as decadent as the next man. I have, and use regularly, a potato ricer, a mandolin and a passing sieve

But this is just too much… comrade!!

I guess you can do 8 slices at once with that.

Obviously, and without bias, I can confirm the absolute truth of the wish expressed in the title. There is no question about it.

@dinny_g you can get ones that allows adjusting the thickness of the slices to suit your personal preference.

Although, I should confess that I prefer Swedish semi-hard/hard cheeses over Danish ones.

I know. Luckily, they don't (yet) judge you on your cheese preferences.
