Re: The Music Thread
Pop quiz; what's the connection between this and a thread in the moaning forum?

Re: The Music Thread
The Countdown clock thread.
Re: The Music Thread
Song done by opus3 and a Moog Opus 3 was used somewhere in the Countdown music?
Re: The Music Thread
The first bit's along the lines I've in mind. The second bit may be correct - I hadn't thought of that so will have to go find out
Re: The Music Thread
Some things I've been enjoying of late:
- really good, slightly left-field hip-hop album
- Brilliant Tiny Desk Concert from Scarface (hip-hop)
- excellent new album from Arrested Development (hip-hop)
https://superdeluxeedition.com/news/var ... ox-of-sin/ - "Gay nightlife and electronic music come together for this 5CD collection"
- new album from Czarface (hip-hop)
- 4x CD version of The Best of Suede
- amazing new album from Scuba - proper old-school rave stuff!
https://www.globalunderground.co.uk/pro ... -brooklyn/ - latest in the Global Underground "Cities" series, mixed by the legend Danny Tenaglia

Re: The Music Thread
that goes back a bit @nuttinnew
I saw the other day that there's a new jungle/D&B mix of FSOL's "Papua New Guinea"

The more it progresses, the better it gets
Re: The Music Thread
OK, a few of my recent listenings:
I only discovered this a few months ago, but it features vocals from a chap called Tenor Fly. Many years ago I helped him move house!
Kinda "just another D'nB remix", but I really like this one
A bit overtly "gangsta", but if you're ion the mood for walking with a certain strut....
Sort of hip-hoppy, but a nice rolling vibe
Couple from Die Antwoord. Fun and disturbing in equal measure.
Kinda commercial, but Lil Dicky is worth checking out if you like that kinda thing. This vid is quite fun too.
If you did raving in the 90s are aren't familiar with Bicep - this is the musical embodiment of a sunrise over some industrial scrubland in some satellite town you've long since forgotten the name of.

Two more contributions from me:
1. A perfect soundbite doesn't exist... expect to hear this sampled for the next 30 years

2. Just discovered Camelphat and their deep, dark trancey beats. Lowkey reminds me of some moments in clubs and Thai becah parties back in the early 00s

@Gavster
If Sir likes camelphat, may I recommend Sir watch their set from Printworks?
I think the darker, more minimal aesthetic of both the venue and their performance/visuals works better

Re: The Music Thread
I think the Dillinja "Grimey" (great track btw!) one of my favourite University Challenge "we need jungle I'm afraid" mashups:
Re: The Music Thread
Thanks! That’s sorted my background music for work tomorrow
All of the university challenge remixes are absolutely class

"Grime" isn't my usual bag, but I thought this was quite fun
