Istr the Rover 600 as the first production car with active engine mounts, maybe the 620ti. If not then I think it was the first time I'd heard of them.
Jobbo, I guess it depends how they're specced, and if they're being sold as an option as standard ones. I imagine RR etc use them as a matter of course and the buyers had zero interest in that sort of thing, whereas on a Porsche etc they'd be used to help differentiate top spec models and sold as an option for lower specs to help milk more from buyers.

Conceptually the Porsche mounts sound pretty similar - just using the same sort of electro-magnetic fluid as you get in adjustable suspension dampers: https://www.total911.com/technology-exp ... in-mounts/

Possibly included with the sports chrono pack. I’d never got too excited about it but I can see why it would be effective.
W/S205 C63S had the active engine mounts. It's one of the things over and above the non-S that it boasted.

Ah, but one of the ways in which the original X5 in diesel form was its match

Old, but still brilliant.

This is what I imagine it would be like if I ever tried to spec a PC build, taking guidance from @Beany and @scotta .....
