The Motorbikerist Thread
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Anyone considering one of these?
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Waiting to see how it performs, altho I'm not expecting greatness from the first effort. My first EV bike will ideally be a commuter spec with at least 100 mile range in all conditions/60mph min top speed.
Actually, am waiting for Yamaha to HTFU and make a T9 (Tenere with the 900Triple)..

Yep, does look much better with the lower fairing!

I suspect that hybrid Ninja will be quite heavy, unfortunately.

One 26th of the weight of an African bull elephant.

That yam is gorgeous.
I did some proper GS'ing on Sunday, went through a ford that was 2ft deep

A 600cc sports bike would typically weigh 180kg.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
It weighs same as my 160hp Sports Touring BMW, for another comparison.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Also from the op, it's 15kg more than a Z900. As a fellow non biker I think it's like adding 50kg or so to a Caterham, 100kg to a small hatchback.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
When I was on my first trip to Wales back in 2019, I crossed a small ford which was maybe 30 or 40cm deep. I thought I was going slowly, but loads of water splashed up and soaked me, so I guess I was going a little too fast
Good to see you're seeking out green lanes and fords and using your GS properly Tim

Can you get motorbikes with DSG gearboxes now? Just saw/heard one that sounded like a VAG style DSG.

Honda have DCT on a couple of their machines, have done for a few years. They've just brought out an e-clutch too, some kind of recluse type thing.DeskJockey wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 4:01 pm Can you get motorbikes with DSG gearboxes now? Just saw/heard one that sounded like a VAG style DSG.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Most modern bikes have quick shifters too, which might be what Alex heard? You kick the gears up without clutch and it cuts ignition briefly, then if you go down the box it auto-blips to help match speeds again.
