Assuming I had the necessary, I could see the "what colour should I have, the same as the last one?" being amusing, and then it sort of snowballing from there.. but it's not even a unique colour and, as others have mentioned, certain cars look best in certain ie different colours.. all a bit strange.
In fact, the only 911 I want in white is the 4.0.. I'd obviously just have to wrap the others..

£65k (charitable price for a new C4S in the day) in 2002 money is £130k today when accounting for inflation.
I'm wondering if an average savings account would have done better but I can't find a reasonable source for a simple savings account for the last twenty years.
It's not like the car actually got used other than being driven for servicing, it would seem.

Probably fair. Much as I like 996s the only one I’d have in white would be an RS, or a race car.
Cheers, Harry
Re: Do you like white Porkers
i reckon I'd find room for a yellow 996 GT3 mk2 (even over an RS). I'd not have the all white collection though!integrale_evo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:33 am Probably fair. Much as I like 996s the only one I’d have in white would be an RS, or a race car.

GT1 Strassenversion counts as a '6 doesn't it??Rich B wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:04 ami reckon I'd find room for a yellow 996 GT3 mk2 (even over an RS). If I did have the werewithal to build a money no object all Porsche collection, a group of all the supercars - 959, 911 GT1 Strassenversion, Carrera GT and 918 Spyder (plus a 991 GT3 Touring as a daily, a 928 and a longhood F body) would be pretty awesome...
Re: Do you like white Porkers
Collection owners house also up for sale
Re: Do you like white Porkers
The GT1 was originally shown with 993 front lights then had 996 lights tacked on when that was launched. But I think it would be fairer to say it’s a 993 variant rather than a 996.GG. wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:26 amGT1 Strassenversion counts as a '6 doesn't it??Rich B wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:04 ami reckon I'd find room for a yellow 996 GT3 mk2 (even over an RS). ETA: Wikipedia confirms it shares very little with the 911 other than the lights, but the front structure is 993-based.
Re: Do you like white Porkers
It wasn't just shown with 993 lights - it raced in that configuration in its first year ('96) and was then subject to significant revision in the following when it adopted the 996 lights. My comment was very much tongue in cheek as you're right that they share very little other than headlights, etc. and looked like horribly stiff po-going monsters on the move... Still - would be fun to have one in the garage!Jobbo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:46 amThe GT1 was originally shown with 993 front lights then had 996 lights tacked on when that was launched.
