Also the emissions; I suspect the i4 will be lower, better tax to regular buyers and therefore offering better BIK to business purchasers? Not sure how much of a factor that is in this segment.

Emira V6 is 258 g/km and AMG version 208 g/km.
I would love an Emira. However, taxes in Flanders are rather spicy.
V6 : registration tax 13170 Euro + yearly road tax 1153 Euro
AMG : registration tax 3635 Euro + yearly road tax 525 Euro
No wonder you don't see to many Emira V6's in Belgium.

Now 42 Emira's for sale on Autotrader :?

Another price increase though. Yikes....the i4 is now £81.5k (up from £77.8k, previously ~£60k announced) and the V6 is £86k (up from £82k, previously £72k at launch).

For comparison, a Cayman starts at £52k, the S is £62k and a GTS is £73k.....are people really going to pay nearly £10k more for 4-cyl Lotus over a 6-cyl Cayman?!?

Further i4 Info:

The i4 is only 12kg lighter though, which is surpising. Would have expected more.

Harry stating the facts, but failing to highlight that the majority of Emiras have been delivered in 2023 (his order seeming to jump the queue somewhat), the Eletre is just out, and the first Evija have only now rolled up to their new owners chargers (I think).

There are indeed quite a few Emira sale on AutoTrader though. Some of these are dealer demos (the Scotland dealer had 3 ex demo’s - they weren’t allowed to put many miles on them so I guess all dealerships went through a few whilst normal customers waited). And I sincerely hope the majority are from speculators who have found the market isn’t interested in paying a premium…

Yeah 2022 would have been an odd year as I'm not sure they were actually selling anything at the point - hadn't they stopped selling the Elise/Exige/Evora by then?

In which case, all that was available was the Emira...and Does a pre-order count as a sale?

The gearbox will be at least twice the weight of the toyota box...

Just seen that Lotus are cutting 200 jobs in the UK, if the loss was merely consequential as production was not fully up and running in 2022 then surely this wouldn’t be the case. I reckon it’s not selling as well as they hoped and they were gauging to see how demand for the AMG would turn out.

Lotus are always hiring loads of people then letting them go, it’s what they’ve been doing for the 30 odd years I can remember hearing about it. At work we said exactly the same thing a few months ago when they said how many they were hiring.

I was expecting that to be the better car, but despite the looks a Porsche is a no brainier, shame.

Even an mx5 which still just about keeps the price in the 20s has an lsd.

I'm pretty close to banning myself for posting Schmee videos, but it's an interesting insight if you can find something to knaw on while watching:

Also, upto 45 on AT now...cheapest is now £73k at a dealer. I'm guessing ~£68k trade in? Ouch.

In June they offered £65 for a 1 month old car with 400 miles according to the Emira forum. I can't imagine it's now higher than that.

I did a couple of days ago - you are not missing anything. Though he does mention the Shmuseum a few times which is his shed on a farm in Barnet that he keeps his cars in. Hope that’s enough to remove any temptation to view it.

He doesn’t even own the farm shed. Everything he interacts with. Make sure you never comment on his videos, Shmito 😄
