Spontaneous mobile screen shattering.

Post by Zonda_ »

Got home from work yesterday and switched off work mobile as normal and put it on the desk. Went back into the room an hour or so later and notice the screen is shattered! It definitely wasn’t when I put it on the desk and there was nothing that could have fallen on it. It appeared to have started at the edge. I only got the phone last week and it was fresh out of the box. Is it possible the chassis has been twisted from the start and eventually it’s cracked?

Seems likely. If it bulging anywhere? Could it be the battery?

I guess it could be a stress fracture then. Frame is twisted as you say, or something went awry during assembly.

Battery failure most likely imo. Mrs A had that on an old apple watch.

That's a bit concerning on a week old phone!

I’ll clarify that the watch wasn’t old at the time and got replaced under warranty.

Nope, I was alone on the house and the phone was in a room on its own! Nothing could have come into contact with it,
