Evija?

Dont be silly - thats a spaceship!Jobbo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:43 pmHasn't it been done once already? Not called an Elise, I accept.Rich B wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:38 pmMaybe electric, maybe a little turbo’d petrol, but i don’t see why a battery version couldn’t be called an Elise?ShockDiamonds wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 4:32 pm
And battery powered? Because then it wouldn't be an Elise.

I’ve heard they are out of this world to drive.

Re: Evija?
I had in mind a higher kerb weight for the original Tesla Roadster, but Google claims 1300kgs or so, which I suppose isn’t that bad. To me, a modern battery-powered Elise needs to be at least that or less in order to qualify as an Elise.
Re: Evija?
Why do you think it should be electric?

mine was in response to Zonda comment -ShockDiamonds wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2019 5:52 pmLike we’ve been discussing something else in this thread?
“After the recent turbulent events at Lotus you’d think they’d want to be launching an attainable, might actually see production, model of a new Esprit rather than more fanciful plans that don’t match reality.“
In my opinion Lotus shouldn’t be too concerned with new esprits or electric suoercars. They should make a proper new Elise.
Re: Evija?
A new Elise is in the pipeline isn’t it? I thought this was the headline grabbing Geely statement with the rest of the range coming behind this new hypercar.

Today's PH opinion piece on the Evija is pertinent, with the tech as it stands it was the best Lotus/Williams could deliver. Everyone would love an Evora EV with 500bhp and half the weight of Evija but today that would still have a half million price tag.
Title blatantly inspired by this thread...
Did the C-X75 help or hinder Jaguar?
Re: Evija?
First drive (?) of the prototype.
- Rather fast
- Impressive weight (circa 1600kg) for an EV
- Partly via very small battery. Range is pish.
- Sounds like your washing machine on spin cycle
I didn’t watch the whole thing.

Warning - JayEmm vid.
Posting as there has been very little info about the Evija recently despite first customer deliveries due "early 2023". The message following the launch was that the full planned production (130 cars) was sold out, but Mr Emm appears to believe otherwise, including a belief that it is a duck, which is dead.

What, Jayemm was wrong?
Re: Evija?
Story is a few months old now, but I hadn't seen it before.
Awkward.
