Pancake day

Post by Gavster »

Busy day at work and then at a class all evening

Gonna need to play pancake catchup tomorrow :)

ETA: I'm far more gutted about missing pancakes than I was about missing Valentines

Have made three batches of pancakes today. Kids hoovered up the first double batch (I only had four), then made another batch when my wife came home (I only had four).

The mrs bought some of the ready mix stuff in a tub you add water to and shake.

Poured the first one and lumps of raw mix came out despite ample shakeage. Decanted into a jug an used a whisk thing.

Tried to cook some, and I’ve no idea what they were made of but they either didn’t cook through and took forever leaving the top so raw you couldn’t flip them over, or raise the temperature and get a thin burnt layer instantly.

I gave up after three attempts.

Will get some flour and make proper ones ( which taste way better anyway) some time.
Cheers, Harry
