Came to ask this. Checo finished 3 points behind Charles, and Max denied Checo 3 points in Brazil.mik wrote: Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:09 pm So LeClerc did finish 2nd in the championship, denying RB the 1-2 finish they were so keen to achieve - and would have done so without The Stapp being such a massive cock last week. Revisit : Max being a massive cock only made a 2point difference in Brazil, so it wouldn't actually have mattered. Damn.JonMad wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 10:55 amCame to ask this. Re: No F1 thread?
I was a bit surprised by it all, never seen 2 drivers care so much about coming second. I could understand Red Bull wanting a 1-2 from a team perspective but the drivers?!
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: No F1 thread?
ah, did Max get an extra point for fastest lap in Brazil then? (13 vs 10 for Checho)mik wrote: Mon Nov 21, 2022 10:59 amRevisit : Max being a massive cock only made a 2point difference in Brazil, so it wouldn't actually have mattered. Footage from quali
Harldly a determined effort by the Stapp to take Hamilton out, but it looks pretty snidey and deliberate to me.
I’m not a Ham fanboi, but Stapp comes across as such a walloper.
Incident only
Longer footage

Can't see how that can be anything but deliberate. Why didn't he get a penalty?

Re: No F1 thread?
Because they don’t want to upset poor little max.
The whole thing was a joke, especially when there were other cars on hot laps. If there was just one car going that slow in a race there would be yellow flags, never mind a whole group pretty much parked up. Vettel carving through them was both exciting and frightening.
I don’t know what the solution is, maybe a minimum speed

Re: No F1 thread?
I've only just realised watching the longer footage that Max successfully blocks Ham coming past on the left, and then slows to walking pace before turning at him when he comes past on the right.

How long before they boot Checo and give Ricciardo the drive?

Re: No F1 thread?
Checo will be fine as long as he toes the line. I wonder how much having Ricciardo though is just about keeping Checo in line.Zonda_ wrote: Wed Nov 23, 2022 3:57 pm How long before they boot Checo and give Ricciardo the drive?

Re: No F1 thread?
I guess 100% sealing the mechanical link from the gear knob inside the car to the gearbox outside the car isn't usually that much of a concern except when tyre smoke is involved!
I suppose it's a weak spot for cold air to leak in, but probably cancelled out by the hot mechanical bits so not worth designing an airtight seal.

Re: No F1 thread?
There’s usually only a rubber boot between floor and stick, then a loose fitting leather bit on top, in an area pretty well protected from dirt and splash, so no, wouldn’t be too concerned by a bit of smoke coming through there.

My comment was tongue in cheek, but thanks for the genuine explanations! Never hurts to learn something.

Re: No F1 thread?
Is it just me that's surprised that a bloke who has a day job piloting one of the fastest vehicles in the world, with pinpoint precision and repeatability, in a highly competitive environment (including some opponents who are right dicknoses), appears to get a kick out of doing a few donuts in a little fenced off area with an R34 Skyline ?

Re: No F1 thread?
He’s probably just happy to drive something that doesn’t bounce
my initial thought was it looked like a gran turisimo promo
Re: No F1 thread?
Unsurprisingly Binotto’s out.
Re: No F1 thread?
I remember rumours a few weeks ago about Binotto being given the boot and Ferrari apparently asked every current and former team principle on the grid if they would like the job to which no one did apart from Vasseur

Re: No F1 thread?
Shame, I liked Binotto. Not that surprising though given their failings this year, the buck stops with him.
