I was incredibly excited for this being an mega-nerd for the old XWing/TIE Fighter games...

But I played only a few hours of this before uninstalling. It just doesn't....feel good to play. Add to the fact it just looks wrong; space feels flat, proportions feel off and things just look small, rather than looking far away.

There's just something really off about it. I mean, it's free so no reason not to grab it (I played it a while back while it was on EA/Gamepass)

@Matty yes I have very fond memories of the old X-Wijg & Tie games too

Interesting comment about the size of the ships as I thought they were pretty good and some of the bases to fight around impressively big, at least up close.

Torpedoing installations on a Star Destroyer was a highlight (the force was with me).

But the graphics, gameplay and flight model do lean a long way towards arcadey rather than simmy.
