Find the most notable person from where you live (or anywhere for that matter)

John Squire (I already knew)

In fact, at 6, Ian Brown moved to just round the corner as well (from Warrington).

After Sunday's Heroics, I'm pretty sure Newport Pagnell will need to change from Gordon Moakes - Bassist with Bloc Party to Leah Williamson

Looks like Robbie Coltrane, the bassist from Simple Minds and Frankie Boyle were all born quite near me.

I grew up in the next village over to Roslin so that area has a much more interesting history, even without the da vinci code bollocks

Nobody I'd heard of where I grew up, but these days I live close to Alfred Hitchcock, Steve Marriott and Chiwetel Ejiofor

In terms of where I grew up, the pick is apparently Lizzy Bardsley

Or where I was born - Professor Sir Brian Cox.

Only notable person on that whom I'm aware of is Alexander Bain

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Bain_(inventor)

He invented an electric clock, and a british Edison type came along, told him it'd go nowhere, and tried to steal the idea. Bain then Jobbo'd him up the arse.
In 1840, desperate for money to develop his inventions, Bain mentioned his financial problems to the editor of the Mechanics Magazine, who introduced him to Sir Charles Wheatstone. Bain demonstrated his models to Wheatstone, who, when asked for his opinion, said he shouldn't bother developing those ideas any further as there was no future in them. Three months later Wheatstone demonstrated an electric clock to the Royal Society, claiming it was his own invention. However, Bain had already applied for a patent for it in October 1840 and received patent No. 8783 as the first electric clock invented and patented. Wheatstone tried to block Bain's patents, but failed. When Wheatstone organized an Act of Parliament to set up the Electric Telegraph Company, the House of Lords summoned Bain to give evidence, and eventually compelled the company to pay Bain £10,000 and give him a job as manager, causing Wheatstone to resign.
He also came up with one of the early concepts for a fax machine but to be fair, it wasn't as good as competing ideas and so didn't get very far. I'm fairly sure there's a replica set up in Watten.

Don't even need to use the website:
Sir Fred Hoyle
Emily Bronte
Peter Sutcliffe

If you are into bike racing, then Ian Hutchingson lives about a 10 minutes drive from me in Eldwick.

He used to live very close to here, on a road I'd often use when out walking the dogs.

TT and bike racer John Hartle has a blue plaque on a pub near me.
Arthur Lowe ( Dad's Army ) was from the village near us too.

Never knew Noel & Liam Gallagher were born in separate parts of Manchester either.
Also noted Albert Finney (my 2nd Cousin / my late mums cousin) born in what I presume is Salford ?

Ronnie O'Sullivan was born in the same hospital as me, but he must not have spent long in Stourbridge. No mention of any of The Wonder Stuff, Pop Will Eat Itself or Ned's Atomic Dustbin who were also born there around the same era as Ronnie and me.
