No F1 thread?
Re: No F1 thread?
There is ZERO overlap between what is, quite rightly, happening now with Piquet - older generation or not and what is happening now with Phil Michelson
That's a really odd comparison...
Justin Thomas would be a more apt example (He referred to HIMSELF with a homophobic phrase under his breath but was picked up by a microphone) and he's quite rightly called out for it..

Shocked that broccers thinks that someone being racist is no big deal tbh.

And since when did "being from another era" become an excuse for anything? Especially when it involves being offensive?

Jackie Steward is from another era but he’s still half subtle with his extreme hatred for Hamilton…

Bit harsh on BroccersSwervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 3:31 pmWell, not quite. Old guy from another era that everyone always thought was a throbber proves he's still a throbber, more like.Broccers wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 3:26 pm I have to say it - after 24 hours of reading EVERYONE blowing smoke up Hamiltons arse its totally over the top. Old guy from another era uses an inappropriate word in today's world and is absolutely crucified. Happens a lot these days, years of career built up and the media destroy them. See Phil Nicholson in golf.
Other than that I've no other comment.

If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Re: No F1 thread?
No tyre warmers from ‘24; will be interesting to see if this makes a big difference.. will tyres become more sticky at room temp? More fluffed starts aswell probably
Cheers,

Re: No F1 thread?
I'd guess that it'll just mean that starting will be trickier, they won't want to make a tyre that's stickier when cold as it'll get greasy once it's warmed up. Unless they know something I don't (which the definitely do tbf).

Re: No F1 thread?
It'll be like Indycar. The starts not too different due to the formation lap but the time loss for a pit stop + outlap will be much greater so you'll want to pit just the once every race.

Re: No F1 thread?
I really should start a side hustle of buying f1 team merch and selling out of a delboy setup the mark up of everything at silverstone is amazing, worse I’ve seen is the mclaren Miami hats, £37 off the mclaren store, £80 at the track
Re: No F1 thread?
I wanted to buy a cap at Goodwood but the Mercedes F1 stand were charging £60, same caps on their website are £30-40

Seeing as he’s safely out the car now
Car stuck between tyre barrier and inner fence. And that’s George on the tyre barrier.

First lap crash may have been a saving grace for F1, loads of protestors stormed the track at the same time

That was an amazing race, accident notwithstanding.

Re: No F1 thread?
Yeah, good race overall.
It’s always interesting seeing Ferrari trying to bodge their strategy real time. They spend the whole race trying to tell Sainz he’s a no. 2 without actually telling him to upset him then they throw away that free safety car stop for Charles.
I still think Sainz is a mediocre driver though, made a silly mistake losing the lead to Max and then was slower than Charles who was missing an entire part of his wing.
